    Oh My Goodness!!!

Just got a sneak teaser of this new big surprise (although wasn't really a surprise) but I can honestly say it really makes this car look 10x better. Can't give away any hints or I'm sure Matt would kill me, so let's just say that I have a new desktop wallpaper now ;)

I did my roof bars in the same vinyl, and I must say I can really appreciate the work thats gone into this :)

It's the most tricky thing in the world and takes aaaages to get right

Looking forward to more, keep up the good work :)

Can the vinyl be applied wet with a soap/water mix, then squeegee'd flat and allowed to dry (similar to window tint, and other automotive decals?).

I'm thinking of vinyl for V8 bosozoku Z when the time comes

If you have a camera it has to be the beach! Maybe Swell tavern?

No it cant, its not a decal. The method for adhesion is strictly dry only. Thus making it 5000000 times more difficult.

I have the info book here, ill ramble off some stuff about it if you like.

    Positioning
Do not use detergent and water or a commercial application
liquid to position the graphic on a vehicle.

Depending on the substrate (being the painted panels of the car in my case) is has roughly 1kg per cm squared of adhesion. That means a 100mm x 100mm square can lift 10kgs!

The 180 series has a good 60 colours. Matte black is 180-22. It has a special note next to it saying that it has clear adhesive and that its got minimal to NO hiding power. Which means all imperfections show through (believe me they do).

Iv spoken to a few guys and had phone conversations with a couple as well about full vinyl wraps. I wont give names but one member told me he was quoted 5k for a full wrap in a gloss finish colour. I was quoted 6k for the matte black at one place (i had already started doing it myself).

Its also about 0.08-0.10mm thick. Its pressure activated and also removable. It has a memory that will hold up until something like 80 degrees i think it is. On some parts of the car the vinyl was actually scrunched up into a ball, i heated it and then ended up applying it. It came out fine.

Lots of interesting info there if you can be bothered to read it. Anymore questions just ask :)

    Matt.

My guess would be that the surprise is the new Ztoy wing above the rear window, wrapped in mat black of course.

That would be a supprise considering the roof wings are 2+2 only.

I also saw a matte black 180 today. First time iv been able to have a good look at the matte black paint. .... its NOTHING like vinyl. Im happy that theres such a huge difference in person, gives it a bit more of a wow factor. This guy has only half stealthed his up, needs black rims!:zlove:. Did alright with the smoked lights though.

    Close but no cigar :)

Well not really close...the fact that it affixes to the car is as close as you got lol.

Just going to point out: 100mm x 100mm is 10cm x 10cm, so... 100 cm squared.. which would equate to 100kg. Much more impressive ;)
