    progress update

Its been awhile since iv posted. Not much has happened by way of progress. Iv wrapped 1 skirt and then got busy. Ill be doing the second skirt tonight and hopefully putting them on tomorrow at which point ill get pics up.

I wanted to share this photo though. While i was out and about i parked in some semi shaded carpark, and i think its the stealthiest pic iv taken.

    Like?

As i was wrapping it the comments were ever increasing. But now that it is completely black i cant go out without a comment or someone asking a question. Its getting ridiculous. Hell yes i (and we) love the attention but its getting too much, and i never thought id say that.

However i did have a good run up north playing cat and mouse with a Lamborghini. Gently weaving around cars and just really enjoying it. Probably the most fun iv had in the zed so far.

full steam ahead skirts! Until then...

    Matt.

LOL! I need to make sure I check my blind spot everytime to avoid bumping onto you, specially at night! :)

    Great effort, man...

Hey Matt. Whats the new name for the car? Wally? :)
Looks like night driving might be a bit dangerous.

    Kaminari Skirts

Long time coming i know. I had one of the skirts wrapped for a few weeks before i could get around to the other one.

    So here it is.

The skirt in its gelcoat form. I had already sanded it and prepped it prior to this pic.

I found this harder than i thought it would be. Doing it alone and the skirt being rather long it took a bit of extra time to try line it up and pull it tight.

    Looking nice and stealthy.

Sikaflex-227 my new best friend after this project.

They sit pretty low, this pics deceiving.

I know these pics dont show off the skirts that well but hey. I also didnt realize my car would destroy the cameras light settings every time haha. Good old iphone, failing at everything.

i still vow to get proper pics but here is what iv got for today.

Next up is the infills. They came with some double sided tape that looks extremely inadequate. Anyone had any experience with it?

    Enjoy, and until next time...

I used the 227 for the infills as well as the skirts. I used some clamps to hold on while drying, Pretty easy.

Yeah sikaflex them on...make sure you clean it all properly and use enough to get a good spread and hold it on nice and tight without spilling out the sides....Renee's infills were sika'd on by the panel beaters but not properly I think as they have come loose a couple of times now and one is starting to peel off AGAIN!

Looking great (from what I can see :p) as usual Matt :D

    Cheers,

    Infill Panels

This was done over the past few days. Not very hard at all, i think i was watching tv while wrapping them.

    Running out of vinyl :(
    [IMG]

    Got them wrapped.

Then put on. I used sikaflex and the tape they provided. The tape is unbelievably sticky..Its bonds like nothing else. When i first peeled back the tape and felt it i was disappointed, it had no tackiness to it. Then i test fit it up with the tape and i struggled to get the 4cm that had touched to come off. So thats why i decided to use it.

Finally got a semi-respectable pic (was off the iphone too!)

The next piece will be a surprise i think, so it should be good. Its a major part :D

    Until next time...

    Matt.

Was the piping done too or just mufflers?

The only new piping that went in was the first bend behind the mufflers. So no. its the stock 2.25" piping all the way through. Sounds good though.

    Haha good guess but no!

Close, as it is something i have already done and have now redone. Put a good 7 hours into it today.

Need daylight for real pics. If i try at night it creates a black hole and we all die. :zlove:

    Looking mean Matt!

Ive been wondering why I haven't seen your car on the road! Think it's too stealth even during the day . Maybe you should drive with your lights on during the day so I can spot you.

awesome work buddy! Hope to catch a glimpse of the stealth Z soon

    Hey biggie!

I drive it all over the goldy lol. Im actually surprised i haven't been spotted yet by one of you guys. :p

Also drove down the valley to my mates house the other day and i decided to turn my lights off. Was a full moon, in a valley that is almost uninhabited at the dead of night. He said i was absolutely invisible, could not see a thing. And when my drivers are on he can see the tails and no outline of the body at all.

I also drove blacked out with hazards on, i was like an orange beacon haha!

Oh the joys of playing with a new toy...

    Rear Wiper delete

Just a quick one today but also to mention my progress on the other part.

Firstly heres the pre and post pics. Not much to note other than its cool looking out the back window now, it feels more open and freeing.

I just stuck a circle of vinyl over the holes to keep it water tight. Should be fine until i can get around to redoing the hatch.

So i put another hour or so into the surprise bit. Its finally complete (as complete as it can be for now). Im hesitant to give much away until i can get some real pictures. Its completely changed the look of the car and i love it.

    So until then....

    Matt.
