Single GTX3582R on my VG30DET is an ideal street/circuit turbo I have found. Ultimately there is more potential power to be had from a good TT setup, mainly because the exhaust and dump system can be made more efficient simply because there are two of everything eg two 3" dumps will flow more than one, mine has a 3.5" dump which is the biggest that would fit in.
So they still have the quality control issues re: blowing a ton of oil out the seals hey? Great idea, getting rid of the AFM and going stand alone ECU, ie: Apexi Power FC, would be a consideration yes?
There are heaps of cars pushing shitloads of power through precision turbos without problem.....bit bullsh*t to say they are all bad. Just like i've seen GTX turbos and turbonetics turbos fail. On an RB26, GT2860-7's vs 6262 .....car ended up pushing 404kw and doing 10.8 @ 131mph
sorry about the quality of the pics didnt relise how shit they were till i opened them on here.(bit dirty oil smudge on the lens) IF you can see there is quiet a bit of clearance everywhere although i might run a tial v44 gate instead. the only thing it gets close to is the fuel lines but even then its about 70mm away. ill also be ordering a beanie to keep it a bit cooler.
Ive got a 90deg here that im going to weld onto the outlet will cut about 50mm off first though. or was going to rotate it down and go under the engine mount. there are a few options and still quiet a bit of room to play with.
I just figure I'll have less problems with a single and still get awesome power. The Turbo I'll be running is not massive its only rated at 600hp
There's no such correlation between single/twin and torque, that all depends on engine size and turbo choice. This looks to be the go and has given me an idea for my next engine after the high comp turbo one goes bang. What ballpark would you be looking for the manifolds if you ever do make a bolton kit?
Probable like 1500 for the manifolds add your own gate and Turbo. Will probably make up custom engine mounts to go with it
Um, what? No. That is taken care of in the plenum, not anywhere else. Benefits of single turbos are a wide range of cheap high performance turbos available, less pipework in the engine bay, most likely easily change the turbo with the engine in and they sound friggen awesome with the antisurge compressor housing [TIS]:br:
this is for reference. its a precision H cover turbo... up to 1200hp rating 8 inches in diameter. 4 inch inlet 3 inch outlet. teh 6766 (935hp) is pretty much the exact same size as the gt35 his using now.
With all that room you should be putting one on the other side aswell! Then you will get "good" power!
