Hmmm well I was going to redo them in leather in any case but if you know the whereabouts of the boot carpet that could help :D

I'm in Rotorua atm, and I might have some spare in my garage - I'll check tomorrow.

So after at least four emails over the last mth requesting my Z1 radiator back from a certain US vendor still no radiator, not even any form of contact to acknowledge he has got it and will return it after the testing he was doing.

I've now purchased another radiator to get this project back on track and will continue on with the build :D

    Parts coming:
brand new rad, fan shroud, water pump, thermostat, fan, fog lamps, j spec bumper, j spec indicators, Z1 silicon boost hoses.

With those parts and the manual conversion kit stolen from the other project the car should be on the road and ready for its cert etc :D

I've been asked by the wife to find clear style indicators for the 99 spec front bumper we are fitting.

Can anyone help with any details of a good quality lamp for this? the factory ones are slightly smoked and wifey is being fussy, she wants clear.

Think I figured out the slightly rough idle
So anyway a new list of parts required has been created and more lovely brand new parts will be on the way soon.
Tomorrow I will start the manual conversion and take care of all the hard to get water pipes etc while the trans is out.

In my gasket kit I got orings for the fuel rail to lower plenum but they looked like standard orings . The ones that came out of the lower plenum were fat and squared edged . The rail seemed to fit in nicely but not sure if its right ?

    Any ideas Mungyz ?

BTW my kit was provided by the engineer shop . Its not OEM and the manufacture on the packet was Belgium ?

Thinking about it now I think they are ment for the injector to rail and not the lower plenum :( might have to throw the old ones back in .

Nooooo! don't do it you will live to regret it!

Get genuine OEM replacements or at least ones the same shape, far to much of a pig of a job to go back in there and fix it when they leak.
They are not worth a whole lot of money and even getting them made from a seal place only costs ~$10 each. $60 or so - compare that to the time it takes to take the plenum off and replace them.

Someone in Aus will have them in stock for certain but if you are in a bind and need them ASAP send a PM I have them in stock :)

Todays progress, not exciting but progress all the same :)

I put this extra pedal in because all the cool kids have them:

Threw away the old heater pipes because this:

Is not good at all, turbo cooling lines completely blocked.

    After:

Not my cup of tea but it's what the wife wanted so threw them in there - thanks again to Josh at Z1 :D excellent quality and fit.

Don't know of any sources to buy ready done but the factory lenses are already clear, it's just the housing is black. You'll need to separate the lens & having the housing chrome treated.

Chrome treating sounds like a good idea actually :D
Have a brand new pair on the way right now so could look at taking the lens off a SH one I have.

Manual conversion pretty much complete, just a clutch line and the electrical stuff to sort out :)

Will get on with some other stuff while I wait for goodies to arrive.

All the goodies are here from Z1 but still waiting on some powder coating from a local place.

Ordered a 99 spec front bumper and rear lamps, new leather parts for handbrake and gear levers and boots.

Oh and brand new Momo steering wheel on its way also :D

I'm on the market for a new steering wheel. Do you have any pics of the one you've ordered or a link to a good place to purchase one from?

Nearly ready to fire it up again:

Still the wiring part of the manual conversion to do and obviously a few clamps and a couple of fuel lines etc to take care of, once she has been on the road for a bit and proven she isn't damaged from the POs storage technique there will be more attention paid to cosmetic enhancement.

Fired it up today, wasn't planing on it but wifey got all pushy so went down and finished off a few things and flicked the key - it's alive :)

Didn't bring the laptop down with me and it's running in limp mode for some reason and wont rev past ~3KRPM.
Will run a diagnostic check on it tomorrow, if it's anything stupid to do with no auto trans info (could be due to the later ECU???) I will pull the ECU and throw the Link from my blue car in there and upgrade the blue car to the new link 300ZX specific G4.

Set the TPS and now everything is happy - no new Link for my blue car :(
Will get a bunch of other stuff sorted and should be on the road by the end of the day, need a couple of lamps etc to make legal but will be OK for testing.

97 doesn't mean it has OBD2, it only came on US delivered models.

I'm more interested in this Link that you mentioned for the manual conversion... Explain please :)
