thanks ports .. that is the info i was after .. i would

prefer to avoid that blue tinge if i could .. it seems to me that the blinding i experienced was the blue component .. so am looking to avoid that component if i can ... but seemingly this offer only starts at 6000k when it seems my individual preference would be met by a 4300k/5300k globe ..???

again, thanks for that ... so assuming that you do not

supply 4300k globes, i could reasonably and safely go for the 6000k arrangement ...??? ..( h3, low beam) ..

and many thanks for your patience, efforts and expertise on this one ....

sorry ports ,yes the kelvin rating does tell you the amount of colour, but the lower the kelvin rating the higher the output of light ,the more you go up the range, the colour takes away brightness :)
eg,a 4300k hid is infact brighter than a 6000k hid

    H1 globe for H3 swap

i bought the H1 kit by mistake thinking low beam were H1 so am now needing to change with H3 globes, does anyone want to buy a H3 kit and do a swap with me for globes. One of my globes has the tiniest nick on the lens due to trying to fit the globe then realising that it was the wrong type.

If anyone could help me out with a swap i would really appreciate it.

    cheers,

    Ben.

i think hot300zx are need a set of H1 for hi beams, so you might talk to him about it, see if he can help you. i can send him a set of H3, and then you swap the H1 <-> H3 with him

mate i drive a mazda myself, and the headlight is pretty similar with the "z", it use a H3 projector for lo beam + H1 reflector Hi beam, and i know how "best" performance the H3 halogen projector lo beam will give you at night, specially you go on freeway a lot, like myself, i travel to wollongong twice a week..... go HID...

is good that upgrading HID in the "z", because the standard HID requirement:
    1. projector style headlight - "z" has projector style headlight
    2. auto leveling system - "z" dont have auto leveling system on the headlight, but you can manuel adjust the angle/level of the headlight. :zlove:
    3. headlamp wash system. - we can always wash our headlamp manuelly :bash:

Cheers, recieved my kit yesterday :) installed it too. I got the 6000k which have a very slight blue tinge but mostly white, they look great but think i might take out the park light globes cos they look crap in comparison to the HIDs  . Other thing is that the balasts make a loud, high pitched buzzing sound when they start up then continue at a low volume when on, is this normal? I guess it is, the globes also flash bright the instant switched on then go dull and slowly brighten until at normal light level, all within a few seconds, i'm guessing this is normal HID behaviour also? just checking i dont have duds or anything

unless you have done the high/low mod, dont switch from low to high and back to low, youll have no low beams until they warm up again

    high/low beam mod

Not completely correct, it's just as bright at any temperature, human eyes just can't see it :p

jux put the bulbs in the housing, connect every signle male and female connector, and plug in into your stock 12v headlight plug, and you on, than find somewhere to hold the ballast, thats it!

where did everyone mount the ballasts?

i tried mounting them where the stock airbox goes....but the leads were about 20cm too short.

    any suggestions?
