just kinda giving shit to my intercoolers. people bolt them on and are like INSTANT 20HP. I call them heatsinks because of this:

hahaha takes out the initial bite of IAT. good for track car but for drag its pretty much a heatsink.

Because on the street that's how they work. You give it a blast for a couple of seconds, the heat is dumped into the intercooler mass which then losses it into the environment over minutes (not the few seconds it took to heat it up). Which is OK on the street because if your going WOT more than several seconds you're probably going to crash, so you'll usually have the time for them to cool down before you need them again. On the track its a different story and they work more like people think they do, but on the street or the quarter mile they are heat sinks.

Only TT autos have the different cam shaft. but personally I like the auto on mine as well, but mainly due to the lazy nature I have now when driving, I have found that with enough power the auto is just as fun as a manual. not to mention when I come on to boost I can change gear and not loose it....... not too sure how much gain there is in that really though.

Its the method Z1 recommend, as per this document (scroll to the very bottom)

    http://www.z1motorsports.com/imageGallery/main.php/d/138974-1/25PipInstallManual.pdf

At 4.5" the Z1 BA SMICs are particularly wide and will not fit without blinker modification.

Here is a pic of my current Z1 SMICs, they have the same length and width as my new Z1 BA SMICs. As you can see if you make the SMIC taller the blinkers will be in the way hence the mod (the red bit is the SMIC - sorry photobucket insists on rotating the pic).

Went to the post office to pick up a microSD card and to my surprise, this was also waiting for me.

The quality of this thing is great. It is for a 2+2 but I am willing to modify it if I can't find a 2+0 version in the next couple of months.
(note, in the pic, i have the package with the cats the wrong way around)

Good ol mother country :D not my mother country, the vert's. Within about 1 hour of spotting it, I had Jesse Streeter bid on it for me.

If I find a good conditioned 2+0 version, I'll be selling this one.

Can you take pics and document the install process? I have the same coolers and 2.5" piping and am interested in how long it takes & problems one might encounter.

I can tell you the problems with the piping now sim300 :p

(In regards to fitment I mean)

Why do you say that? Out of all the kits I think Z1 is the best as it has longer silicon sections that makes fitment easier.

Sorry to disappoint but I'm not doing the 2.5" piping install. I took one look at the Z1 instructions and decided I didn't want to get that into tinkering with my car right now (maybe one day when its not my daily and I have plenty of time to stuff around).

I'm just doing your basic intercooler swap (which I will take pictures of). I have a 2.5" to 2" inch conversion kit (which Z1 stuffed up but have since rectified).

So it looks like you might end up being the documenter. Good luck :)

Don't get me wrong mate, I'm not saying they are shit. Just unfortunately despite that addition fitting larger intake piping is a royal PITA
