    Plenum Shaving!

I began shaving the plenum from the NA motor to prepare it for powder coating. The goal is to have an aesthetically pleasing plenum, free from any unused bolt holes or casting marks.

    Started with this.

These are mostly what I'm trying to eliminate, will give the plenum a much cleaner look when the colour goes on.

Using a grinder with a flap wheel attachment, most of these casting marks come out very easily.

There is still heaps to come off, but I wanted to try to smooth what I had already taken off. Using this amazing tool with some 80 grit sand paper, I began smoothing out what I'd already shaven.

Yeah it's a pretty big job, still debating how far I want to take it, think I might go the whole way and get any holes welded up...

Colour is a secret for now, going to the powdercoaters today hopefully to see his selection in person.

Make sure ya get some nice pressure watercleaning in there after the powdercoaters. Dont want any left over sand blasting material found in any nooks and crannies in there.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

It's interesting to me that there are metal hard lines for the brake fluid ****ing everywhere in your bay. On my ABS car there're only two or so hard lines in the bay.

Your lines would go to your abs unit, then to the calipers, where as mine are direct I'd say.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Yeah I figured as much. Intriguing.

    28RS Goodness

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I sold my GT28R turbos with the external waste gate setup. With the money from the sale, I got a brand new set of GT28RS (2860) with a .64 rear housing.

Bolted on the exhaust housings to ensure the wheels don't get damaged while I store them till I can bolt them up to the motor, they are not correctly clocked just yet.

While the outsides of the 28R and the 28RS are the same physical size, the difference is in the housings and the wheels themselves.

Also ordered some brand new OEM steering rack bushes to replace my original ones. Very accessible while the motor is out, one less thing to worry about.

In other news, will be taking my ECU in tomorrow for the NIStune install at Chequered Tuning after hearing nothing but positive reviews from Sandeep and some others about Trent.

    :zlove:
