Yep sure, although I doubt if it will be in NZ, so come over. I have not had a passenger seat in it for years and recently put a race seat bracket in, just need a seat now.

This motor doesn't produce more power, about the same we suspect, just much lighter, by 105kg. Does not cost big money at all using a stock VQ30DET $1500, then added strong valve springs, dry sump, custom plenum, top feed fuel rail and exhaust manifolds, so it should be much more efficient. Motor only cost $2000 and has four bolt main, hard annodised pistons, Molly coated skirts, 93mm bore compared to VG30DETT so shorter rods and 9 to 1 comp so should be able to rev. When running E85 and 20psi it should easily make an easy 400rwkw with the boost button we can use on the straights. Compared to the VG the VQ has a much lighter rotating mass, the cams are all hollow with narrower lobes and wasted down and all four are about 2kg lighter, which is a fair bit, alloy buckets with metal shim 39 grams each compared to VG hydraulic 63 grams each, when you multiply this by the 24 it adds up to alot of saving, the cam gears are about half the weight, crank pulley is much lighter although now has a Ross Racing custom balancer. Even the ignition coils are by about 35% lighter. The engine block which is alloy will be the greatest weight saving

The VQ has better port design and stock valves are around 2mm larger.

We do have a spare block with Darton Sleeve kit so can go up to 100mm bore and with VQ35DE crank we have it can go up to 3.8 litre and will use forgies then and bigger turbo's and make an easy 500rwkw.

    Now this idea I like!!

    Less talking

And more working, we now have only 20 days untill the Nissan Nats, and it's going to take every one of them to get it ready in time, so put the keyboard down and start picking up the spanners otherwise you will be my mechanic at wakefield.;):D:D
Have some days off next week, will come up and give a hand to help get it finished.:)

John, did Ross charge you much to make and fit the inductive pickup tooth gear for the rear of the balancer ?? I have Zebs dry sump balancer here I could send to them

I wouldnt mind pissing off the CAS on the race engine. The Motec wont care whats sending the pulses as long as it gets them.

    Not much

Ross Racing sticker on my car. Crank and cam trigger like VQ30 is much better set up. High revs and belt flex not so good.

    Reflective heat shield

You can, but you wouldnt because it would defeat the purpose of it. You can also get it in silver which works almost as good.

    Update - Engine installed

New dry carbon targa roofs ( no gelcoat, all carbon fibre, Kevlar, Polly core and epoxy resign), now 980 grams each compared to wet carbon 1.55kg previously, so over 1 kg saving off the roof.

Custom alternator bracket to support the rear of alternator, wasted down to save wieght.
