I think disconnecting the connector underneath the seat should disable

the system. Although is it's faulty/malfunctioning it may not fix it...

Re: problem with stalling on cold start

Could be the CTS, ever tried starting your car even on a warm day with the plug pulled off your CTS?

Yep, that's exactly what it sounds like. Everything is off, the stereo

is out, the plug is off the back of the ingition switch, the alarm and all sensors are out, etc.

The only electrical activity is the interior lights - I have the driver's door and the hatch open.

I have stuck my head under the bonnet, it is not in there. It is definitely inside the car.

    If it's a bomb it's taking it's time.

    Cheers

There is a relay powering the interior light circuit behind

the rear LHS interior panel (next to FPCU)which would be 'on' if you have the interior light on/door open etc. Why it would be clicking is anyone's guess...

Ahh mine does this and I believe it has to do with air getting pushed

into or the turbulence affecting the Hotwire in you AFM (Airflow meter). Mine does it if I take it out of gear when slowing at the lights because my POD sticks right in the air flow at front.

the reason i asked my original question on this post was that many,

many years ago, when being taught to drive, it was belted into me that cruising in neutral was one of the worst and most dangerous things that you could do when driving ....

My Zed makes me do all the work and won't let anyone else

    do any work on her!

Ok, so it's just me but everytime it seems I let someone else touch my car, they have a habit of not taking to good a care of it. :|

    me neither ben...

the drive from judiths house to my house is approx 50min. I've had the recirc button on (stopping air from coming in from outside) and it remained like that for the full 50min.

    Cheers

    Interesting?

So there may be two different programs for the CC computer?

So far I've only seen Zeds with the 15min 'timer' PITA feature.

    Re: Interesting?

When I was hunting around for a climate control computer, I picked up three each with different codes on each...

    There's around 12 different Computers ...

... but what was the difference was in the early years 89-93, is anyone's guess. If Nissan did add or remove the 15min recirc to fresh timer, when was it?

Yeah not an ideal thing to cause if you stall there goes the

power steering as was described earlier. But as I posted earlier the air turbulence is affecting the air going through your AFM at idle which is not much and hence the silly idle.

Found it!!! The dead battery this morning was a dead giveaway that..

.. my click was a bit more than a minor aberration that had been there all the time.

I pulled the looms down again, rechecked everything, resoldered and reinsulated all the tidy-ups from the previous alarm install (performed by Bill The Butcher I suspect), charged up the battery and hey presto the click is gone. There was abviously a minor short there somewhere I couldn't see.

Isn't heatshrink tube just the most wonderful stuff? So clean and so neat.

    Thanks to all.

    Cheers
