Not big - just need to pump ~ 15psi to check there aren't any boost leaks.

post your times up as mentioned it will tell alot about what you need to look into.

the reason why you feel the loss of power is exactly shown in the dyno graph. the boost and power drops off at just above 4500rpm. even though the boost drops off like that it shouldnt really have a flat spot in the power curve as much as it does. i think it is more than just the boost tapering off.

first things first, get it checked over. error codes, sensors, boost leaks etc all checked first. check spark plugs (use copper plugs), coil packs, ptu etc.

if all good, play around with the ebc and try make the wastegates stay closed longer. it may be that your wastegates are the problem and are leaking once you hit that boost level.

hopefully you rectify the problem keep us updated

Didn't really want to post up the drag run, as it's terribly shameful!

    Ran 15.3s at 90mph (145kph).
    60' was 2.24sec.
Note this was in full street layout with spare/audio still in the car, but either way is definitely WAY slower than it should be. Needless to say I was hugely disappointed, but as I'm unwilling to go for regular 150kph runs on the road and lose my license, the drags is about the only place to be. :p

Pretty much every time she got to ~ 4500rpm it just felt like I'd stop accelerating and would see someone shoot past me. :p

Dropping over to dedzed's place now to loan the compressor (so much for my writing haha). Don't think it'll be the wastegates given that I have it on good authority (ezzupturbo) that they're not stockers.

yeah something is surely wrong there, keep us updated

bit confused as the prev owner ran a 12.8 with the car but that was back in feb/mar this year. not sure if something has gone wrong since then

the npower dumps could be robbing you some power aswell

What's wrong with n power dumps?

Think we figured it out though - loose intake pipe it seems. Will be able to tell when I can give it some WOT.

do you know if tom played with the latencey in nistune.
its already got coppers in it you might just need to regap them to .8mm for the higher boost.
there shouldnt be boost leaks ay, but its always good to check.
How were you launching at the drags?
were you on boost when you left the line

Couldn't find it early enough last night unfortunately! Only ended up getting 3 runs in as it started raining. None of them were after I messaged you :(

Not entirely sure what Tom did. I'll check the spark plug gaps on saturday though -thanks for the advice :). At the drags I was launching at about 3000rpm, was getting a bit of boost pre-launch.

Good news though! - I plugged my brother's ECUtalk in and checked everything over after dedzed and I had tightened the pipe up. I then, somewhat questionably, found a quiet straight 110kph road and used the ECUtalk to do a 0 - 100 and a 1/4 mile time. 0 - 100 was 5.5s, 1/4 mile was 14.04 at about 170-180kph (will need to confirm by doing another night at the track) and that's without using the hi-stall to launch :D. Definitely felt an improvement in the performance even before going WOT tonight, and there no more high-rev hesitation. She boosted up more than easily enough to 15psi too, so I think we've found the problem. Makes me feel quite stupid :bash:

The intake pipe in question is slightly too short though, and difficult to secure adequately to both ends, so this weekend will also be spent rummaging through the shed for some high pressure intake piping.

    All good things though :)

Got confirmation from ztoy that the front bar is only a few weeks away too, so I will soon be saying goodbye to SenĂ´r Veilside Mc. Speedbumpgrinder

search around the forum, many posts throughout different threads on here about npower dumps. most people either didnt get a power increase or lost a bit of power. very rarely some made more power with them.

nice to hear that you found a problem. the times still sound bit high but im sure a tune with no errors or problems should fix this. make sure u check everything before you get it retuned. ;)

Okay, spent the day taking care of the car.

No boost leaks that I'm aware of, but i did manage to help the paint out a bit.

If anyone wants some good advice for taking care of paint that could be better, I cannot suggest a certain brand highly enough: Autoglym!

For about $50 you can pick up a 500ml bottle of Autoglym Super Resin Polish or Ultra Deep Shine. They're not exactly cheap, but if you're going to really invest in your car's appearance, a variable speed orbital polisher and Autoglym polishes and resins are brilliant. For darker paints, go the Ultra Deep Shine.

The paint was filled with an immense number of tiny "spider web" scratches that you get from using dirty brushes to clean, running your hands along the car, etc. While it took a while, I managed to get most of them out and bring back some of the depth to the colour of the paint.

Some before and after shots (excuse the crappy iphone photos):

Can clean your teeth in the paint ;P

There are still a lot of points where the paint has been touched up or needs some serious loving (as in the previous posts), but I've figured that given there are some issues with the paint already that most of the problems shouldn't be too hard for me to tackle myself. These pics atleast show those of you concerned over your paint condition that it may not be that difficult to get it back to pristine condition again. Will keep everyone posted.

She still needs a bit of attention, but is certainly getting there. :)

Went past nissan today - $410 for a third brake light.

Might need a suggestion for an online supplier who can get the light to me in one piece? :p

So I took her for another run down at the motorplex.

I don't think I'm terribly good with the auto box.

    End time: 14.0 sec
    Trap speed: 167kph (104mph).
    Reaction time: 0.271s
    60' time: 2.356s

Peak boost for the run was 14.5psi

and, if anyone's actually interested in the following:
    Ambient temp: 26.3c
    Track temp: 37.5c
    Air Pressure: 1013.5hPa

Might need a bit of tutelage in regard to using the shift kit. Still feels like she's bogging down a bit at the top of the power curve, but that might just be my imagination.

hrmm those times are still high. what are you doing while dragging? have u got it in d and just plant it or something else?

do you use the hold button aswell ?

what are you stalling it up to ?

    are you manual shifting it??

might be better off leaving it in 3rd as the shift points have been changed in the vb. use your handbrake to help hold you back to. are you getting wheel spin off the line?
