Purchased a R34 Skyline wing a while ago, finally got it installed. [Thanks for all the hard work Niall! ] Thought it looked fantastic in a pic I saw on a Z, wasn't so sure when I got it back - but now I've had it for a couple of weeks, I really like it. :zlove: Think it suits the Z without being too much and actually looks better mounted on the stock spoiler than brazillian. So, time to tell it like it is people - love it or hate it? Plus some other non-wing pics
Vote 1 for hate .... please read on---> You want honesty? I dont hate your car. I LOVE it, its hot. I dont hate the stock wing, it's hot. I dont hate the r34 wing, its not too bad. What i do hate, is that wing 'plonked' on top of the stock wing. I mean, take step back and see, its just... so ... Veilside :vomit: Its, one, the other, or none, in my honest opinion. Please, don't downgrade such a nice and tasteful car any longer. Take it off, or leave it and go brazilian.
+1 Im usually the one to speak my mind and say i dont like something but then Elie would be redundant I think once the novelty wears off you might question it, coupled with elie's comment id be fairly demoralized too lol. In the end if you like it then sweet, mission accomplished Matt.
Please, I in no way intend to demoralise. Merely, demoralRICE. ...such a nice car though dude, all one has to do is not look rearward. Or you can just brazilian all together?
Ok, so that's 1 for no, and about 5 for HELL NO! Oh well, I did ask for honesty! I think it sits rather nicely parallel with the stock wing, so I personally don't see it as 'veilside-ish'. But having said that, it was strange to see it in the flesh for the first time after it was fitted. But I'm committed to it now, stock spoiler has been cut to get a clean fit and I will NEVER go brazillian (I think the bumper looks like a fat butt without a wing to line up above it).... but that's just me!
I was actually gonna do the same spoiler for my car at one point (minus the stockie) and then when i saw one on a Zed i thought...nah. Sorry man, it looks too skinny for the zeds body. You could probably pull it off if you were minus the stock spoiler, just, but i dont like it now that ive seen it properly.
I'm not a fan for 2 reasons, firstly that you've gone the 'double spoiler' look. The example below definately looks better. Secondly while its a nice wing I think its too narrow for the zed, in the above photo I think the edges should be sitting a good inch further out on either side.
Mate...! I absolluuuutely LOVE it!! lol! It needs to be extended to the width of the rear wing though, but I think you've achieved a nice low aggro looking wing there! Nice!! :zlove: :zlove:
Wow someone else likes it! Beginning to think that would happen... Yeah, would probably look better if it was the same width. You are my new best friend, and if you ever need an alibi, let me know.
Would be much better suited with a Brazilian. Unfortunately, the combination with factory rear spoiler photo you showed that convinced you was taken at an angle, which does look good, but a shot square on from the rear of the car tells a different story. Luckily, your car is black, which means that you can go a complete fill brazilian, rather than the 3rd brake insert panel. Doesnt square off the top of the tail-lights (leaving it somewhat obscure looking) as it would with any other colour. Oh, and hardwire in your S2 PTU. Gives you 2 less potential points of failure. Relocate it to underneath the nose panel while youre at it as well.... and re-route the hardpipe temp sensor wiring. Cleans up the front of the motor heaps Apart from that, dont mind me, been up since 7am yesterday morning. Quite a nice example you have there. Bling is addictive however...... we have meetings every other sunday.... BYO polished stainless seating.
It's funny you say that, I'm a recovering blingaholic. I've been blingless for a few months now, the urge is still there but so far I've been strong.
Sorry but not a fan at all Mr G It just looks over the top with two different wings, not in balance with the car at all and frankly looks try hard...all things common to the veilside look unfortunately. As others have said, if you like it then good on ya but it's definitely not my cup of tea Cheers, Craig
In addition, before its time to crash and burn (already finished my morning troll for more bbrgains), the wing does look good. Dont agree with the advice that it should be lengthened to the entire width of the rear. The entire dimensions aren't suited to anything larger.... would just make it look too thin. Might as well have gone a Stillen if you wanted the full width look. (Type 2 IIRC.... which I discovered after I binned mine)
