    Tom,
Please read the PM i sent, and send me your email address.
A while ago I did a Project management assignment for an engine rebuild. I would like to offer a copy of this to you as a bit of a project guideline for the engine rebuild part- Even it is it carried out as a basic 'tick off the days' device for planning the workflow of your project.

Any other scheduling advice, keep me informed and i will be happy to help.

    Update - Day 3

    9.41PM

Well I just walked in the door guys! Thanks for the follow up SMS tordek! :)

Today I had some good progress... Obviously there was a lot of PZP work involved... Managed to get another engine back together and in a car, and another timing belt/plenum pull combo on the way, but this isn't what you want to hear.

Project wise, 2 major things happened today....

1st item on the list was Gearbox re-assembley.

I pulled one of my z32 tt gearboxes apart about 6 months ago to see why it was hard to get into 3rd & 4th... The problem was the shift fork.... the casting of the ring on the inside of the fork had broken, causing the gear to engage on an angle, giving a nice crunchy noise and a lot of feedback from the shifter.

    Here are some pics:

Well as you can see, she was fairly buggered. So a new shift fork, a few new bearings and a few swear words, the box was back together and is now waiting for an engine to give it some punishment!

2nd thing completed was the 'donor car'.

Due to many years of storage, things go missing, or in my case, sold or thrown out. Well it seems to me that i'm missing everything from my engine bay.... a/c parts, fuel brackets, intercooler piping, wiring, etc, etc... the list goes on!

Instead of hunting around wrecked Z's across Australia, it would be easier to get them all from one place... Luckily we're building another drift car for the PZP family, so tonight we removed the the engine, auto box and everything else on the car.... Now I have Z parts everywhere to transfer over to my new baby.

I'll post up more pics tomorrow of the progress, I hope to be able to get all of the intercooler piping and engine bay related goodness in the car, ready for an engine. I should have at least a long motor ready to slot in by the end of the week. Wish me luck!!!!!!!

And keep those SMS's and PM's coming through! :bow2:

    Update - Day 4

Well another day down, not as much completed as I wanted to but I had another timing belt and plenum pull on today... Plus a few coolant leaks so busy busy. Anyway, my project progress...

Today I removed the vitals from the donor car and transferred a few bits and bobs onto my car. I'm happy to announce that I now have aircon again!

I transferred all of the a/c stuff over, including condensor, evaporator, dryer and all of the associated lines. I should point out to anyone doing this at home, you have to degass the system first (meaning you need someone certified to collect the old gass), then remove and reinstall into the right car. You also have to take in account that the A/C system is oiled which means you need to re-oil it and replace all of the O-rings that seal between each pipe connection.

I also managed to transfer fuel lines, abs associated parts, power steering lines and installed a brand new engine harness so I don't have to deal with dodgey connectors. It's a LHD harness but will still fit with a few PZP tricks! :)

No pictures today guys, sorry about that... I did take some but left my camera at work. I had a minor service to do on the fiance's car this evening, then a few coronas at the workshop... meaning lock up and leave without remembering the camera! :bash:

Tomorrow = install intercooler piping and then start work on engine! I'll have to get the heads out to the machine shop tomorrow if I can have it up and running by the end of next week. :)
