big improvement from the ferrari style lights! :) what are you doing to them?

the only thing I would change about my set up is chroming the insides of the reverse lights (easy) and fitting white perspex lenses to them like the 2K's (very, very hard) so they match. that would be epic...

I would love to hear you say "epic" when you see my lights set up :) I may or may not have gotten what you have mentioned :p

I was going to post up a pic of the lights i got send to me a while back, but i would rather enjoy the suspense :)

I will be selling the tail lights, as i seem to be the only one with the CF style altezza lights...

    With good reason!

I mean white, rather than clear reverse light lenses. So they match the bottom half (indicators) of the 2K tails. And chromed lense housings, also like the 2k's.

I think i get what you mean...if i remember correctly, the reverse section of the altia panel looks just like 2k spec...so i think i have done, what you mean :) I shall spill all details once i get my zed back and all ready :)

I doubt it. Let me be more specific:

    http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315122

In that thread Pepper fits the chromed 2K spec housings to an Altai panel, which is 1/2 of what I mean. The other part (more or less impossible part) is 4 x new reverse light lenses to match the indicators of the 2k.

I think I'm going to get some chrome spray paint to replicate what Pepper's done without butchering a 2k center...

From what i can remember, my reverse lights are more whiter than Pepper's...but im unsure if they are as white as the 2k spec tails...

I should get them tommorow according to the tracking information...so i should be able to tell you exactly how they look. I am hoping the whole set looks like it was meant to be like it instead of something easily modified...

Anti just some hard learned advice.
Make sure you seal that panel as best as you possible can.

If you have any of that factory black gunk left from the 2k tails use it appropriately and clamp that thing shut as tight as possible.
If you can re-use those little bronze retainer screws to keep it from separating in the heat.

Any moisture getting in the panel will yellow the clear plastic, requiring you to pull it apart, clean it and seal it up again.

Yeah, I'm just about to pull out my Altai again and re-clamp it

It's just not coming together flush, and protrudes ~4mm from the rest of the tail lights. I only pressed it together by hand; I'll be clamping it tighter and tighter while continuously heating it with a hair dryer.

Thats it, and yes use CLAMPS with rags if you can.
Any scuff marks on the panel face will come out with plastic polish, like-new.

I regret losing one of those bronze screws, as if you're serious about keeping it natural and flush, they're essential.

There are four that line the top of the panel on the back.
They retain the face panel on the backing.

The black goo does the majority of the job but the screws keep it firmly together and prevent the panel from separating over time.

I've used alternative stainless screws from supercrap auto.
Keeps the panel together and flush.

That's more or less all there is to it haha. Just unbolt the panel, put some clamps around the edges and progressively tighten them while heating with a hair dryer. Simple.
