Was browsing through a few things i wanted done to my Zed, and i was wondering what exactly was legal... So does anyone know exactly which aftermarket mods can legally be done to a car without having to contact the licensing center and having special permission ect. Obviously this is for a registered street car, not a track car. Intercoolers? Pod filters? (i heard from somewhere they aren't legal in some places?) ect. ect.
pods can be but i think theres something stupid about having them shielded (dont ask me why?) and they get picky with cannons. when i got pulled over they searched up a list of brands which were adr approved and luckily mine were on there but yer. at the end of the day, if the cop says there and then that hes not happy with your mods he will be a **** about it
What about intercoolers? Do Z's come with stock intercoolers? If so, doesn't that mean replacing them with aftermarket ones won't be a problem or what? I know cops can be dicks, but i want to have a legal foot to stand on in the event that i do get pulled over...
everything is legal if you get a permit for it... should be a permit application on the transport site, fill it out and send it off BEFORE you do the mods, and where it asks what effect it will have on the car, do not mention power gains- i am gonna be doing this in the next few weeks for FMIC, BOV, bonnet, bodykit(yes you can get them on a permit for them ,Pod, TS, lights/leds, tint, exhaust - cops can go jump once i get that permit, even if i dont get the stuff on the car for ages, they wont be able to say shit
they can and will! My mate has permits for his r33 mods got pulled over had a cry about pillar gauges and even though he had the permit for them with him the cop said i dont give a shit.
then who do thay meen shit to? loool are thay like a novelty or somthing? =\ **** this world we live in is all kinds of ****ed up.
It may help you get through the pits but thats about it. Your still getting the yellow and still have to go through the hassle of the pits tho.
where did you read that rofl ,youre totally wrong ,luis is spot on,cops dont give a shit about your paperwork, for all they know you could have forged them lol
AH, ok, so i need a permit to have an aftermarket FMIC installed? Also, are there any mods which do NOT require permits? My car came with a POD filter already inbstalled, yet i saw and have no permit, should i be worried or not?
damn it your back again... cant we ban him permanently?? anyway back on topic... my last zed i had permits for... cops pull their stickers out, i pull my permits out and they go searching for things which weren't on the permit and stickers go back in their car ... i got a "just make sure you keep your permits up to date sonny" permit=no problems permit by definition means is allowed- hence they cant do shit
haha there right cops will be cops getting the aftermarket intercooler permit is pointless make it look as stock as you can to take it over the pits or even leave the stock one on then swap it after.......because getting the permits just gona cost you $$$ the only people who are gona care are the cops and as people have said above if the cop wants to sticker you he will...and then you'll go back over and then get stickered and then go back over and get stickered......had a commodore with 19" rims that i got a permit for guess what! got a sticker even with showing the permit so back go the 15s then swap em back off we cant win
We always talk about pods and FMIC.....What about the legality of electronic boost controllers.... I'm thinking of applying for one of these permits because i already have FMIC, pod and boost controller, does anyone know how much they cost???....or does that depend on how many modifications???
yep depends on the ammount of mods as others have said dont bother there just gona sticker you anyway
