Chance to drive the mountain for four days, culminating in no speed limit timed sessions.
Awesome opportunity, pity about the price.:(

First time bathurst has been used for a supersprint.

I hope it's a success and they make it an annual event, something to save
    up for in 2008.

With fuel and potential breakages and tyre wear... should turn out to be a nice $5-6K couple of days... But to drive the mountain flat out... PHWOAHHH... wouldn't that be worth it?!!!...

Look at all you tight a$$es!! :p ....remember its a public road and the costs of road closures and insurance for a week is huge. Not to mention the extra staff and infrastructure to set an event of this magnitude up - it certainly is NOT cheap!

...I haven't read the supp regs yet to see if I'm eligible but I'm counting my pennies to see whether I can do this. I'd love to be able to do Bathurst with no speed limits!

    Oh Hell Yes!!!!!!!!!

mmmmm I doubt you will get many timed sprint laps however as it seems that is on the last day and will most likely be run in a few lap sprint or similar over different colour groups etc.

I might have to look into this one what a cool 30th Birthday present for me (15th)

    he he he

For that price it would be cheaper to fly to Germany and go around the Nürburgring. It costs 345 Euro to do 25 laps there and you could possibly hire a German sports car to do it in.

Yessir...drove the ring in 2003 for about 300eu...and in a porsche 996 Turbo which cost about 400eu for the day. I was over there anyway so won't factor in airfare but $2000au will get you to europe return. So we're looking at less than $4000 including transfers, accom etc. Diablo's were about 800eu for the day, but had none available the day we decided to do it.

But Bathurst certainly ain't no holy grail like the Nordshleife is!

    6kms - pffft, is that it! :p

Downside to the Nordshleife is that you wouldn't really be taking your own car around the track like Bathurst - this is why Bathurst is appealing to me!

I'd rather do a few fast laps around there on any week day, and take the risk of a speeding fine. It would be just as exciting, and a damned sight cheaper(even with the fine).:p:p:p:zlove::banned:
