    Hi guys,
Been a fair while since I've been in, but the sites looking fantastic! Great work!

I've spent the last week and a bit ressurrecting the Z, the battery was dead to begin with (got a free one, thanks NRMA :) and thanks Ian for telling me about their battery service to begin with :)). Then the spark plugs were crusty and corroded, lovely. I rebuilt the IAAV, fixed a bunch of broken connectors, fitted a hard pipe kit from the group buy ages ago, fun fun fun.

Anyway, when I connected the battery terminals, the alarm sounds like it is trying to go off but doesn't have enough pwoer, croaking and clicking, it sounds as though the fuel pump maybe doing something similar too. The battery is fully charged (i orignially though it might be happening because battery wasn't full). The dash lights a very dark, like a low battery, and the car will not turnover at all. It jump starts fine (the alarm goes silent/normal when the jump cables are attached), but even while the car's running clicks and croaks and carries on. When driving the brake and the indicator turns the stereo off. If i leave the battery connected, the alarm indefinitely croaks and clicks. The battery is an 550CCA super heavey duty from NRMA.

The weird part is, if I put my g/f peugeot battery in it (480CCA), it starts first crank, and the alarm works fine. I ahven't checked yet whether the stereo does the same however.

Any suggestions? I'm trying to get out of using an auto electrician, as I don't have a history of getting good ones.

    Sorry about the long post,

    Thanks all!

    Hugh
