1989 to 2000, but who on here or someone you know about, what year/month is your zed, do we have any stats for Australia or this forum?

Was thinking if I ever get a zed again, how would I go about it? would I build up from a rooted one (too painful) buy someone else pride and joy? or import from Japan. If importing would look for the youngest best condition allowable under the current regs, speaking of the current regs, there are 2 workshops to comply 2 seater and 1 workshop to comply 4 seaters... EEK. Since 1998 is the youngest allowable, did a search in Japan for 1998 TT, there are two for sale on Goo-Net.com

    This #1 and this #2

    Sim300

I would say that SIM300 has the youngest zed with his 2 seater 2000 model zed... Love it.

It's a personal import - he didn't import it himself, bought it from a bloke in WA.

    NA or TT

Most of the younger zeds over there are NA... not many 2000 spec TT's around, maye 5:1 ratio at a guess.. What is Sim300?

My cousin's been there 15 years has offered to get a car and park it at his house, leave it there a year and import here as a personal import, however if I was to take him up on the offer I would have a hard time choosing a 2000 spec zed over a earlier model R35 GTR. Can get them at auction in Japan under 40K AUD (assuming the exchange rate doesnt continue to plummet, which I think it will)

Came across these, the are about 300K AUD in Japan, Brand new R35 GTR NISMO's, about 2-3 times more expensive than a non Nismo R35 GTR, 570 HP retuned for the track...

    WHat?

    But you drive manual.

What do you mean if it was an auto? VERY confused by that one Andy.

The is 1 reason why I did NOT buy that Zed and 1 reason only.....

.....I never even saw it go up for sale.

I know there is a handful of 2000 model Z32's here in Australia. The exact number, I have no idea, but I've heard of a couple of 2+2's. Haven't heard of any other 2+0's though. Mine is plated as March 2000.

A friend who mostly lives in Japan & has been involved with exporting cars out of Japan for long enough that he advised to the government back in the 90's while the low volume import scheme was being set up emailed me saying restrictions on importing & complying numerous cars (likely to include 2000 model Z's) are being reviewed & likely to change next year (favourably!).
The SEVS listing for 2+2 Z32's has already changed from 10/96 - 12/97 to 10/96 "to current"
MP Ricky Muir is apparently responsible for overseeing the changes if you're interested in sending him polite encouragement.
Should be reliable info, I asked my old mate Ken to find me a nice Z in Japan & before I knew it I had a dream come true (except geez am I sick of silver Z's now) : )

I hope you're wrong, my Z won't be as special if it becomes easier to get them. I am greedy.

... all I can say is Ken knows his stuff. His email was in response to me asking if he'd mind parking a totally stock, low km, black, 6/00 manual TT 4 seater for me over there for 12mths
    No need for that apparently!
(Yours will still be the cleanest mate :) )

You'll see a brief dip in value and then it'll go back to normal.

    Stress not.

Fact is, unless the dollar climbs again, only complete and utter zedoholics would even think about importing one.

And there aren't that many of us.

...unfortunately Ken's only partially correct at present. SEVS does technically now accept importation of 2000 models with their listing of 2+2 stating 10/97 to current.
However, to satisfy ADR requirements (as they stand) Nissan needs to release crash test results for the later model Z32's, which they no doubt do have available.

    Rock on Jono :)

Seems my 12/97 will remain the youngest I've got for a while yet
