I've checked the yellow pages and did a google search but couldn't find anyone that mentioned they sold Delrin rods in 3" diameter in various lengths.
inflexible polymer made from formaldehyde It's a lightweight but durable low wear, low friction plastic for automotive applications such as subframe bushes. I want a cylinder (rod) of it measuring 3" in diameter and lengths of 150mm to lathe up the diff bushes that are stuffed on mine.
One of my suppliers stocks Delrin >>> 75mm diameter in natural colour (sort of creamy white). $153.20 per metre + GST. In stock at the moment, and I should be able to get it cut to length. Supplier is Plastics for Industry, about 5 minutes from me. Quite often have a chat with the owner, he races a Porsche 944 in the Vic State Series. If interested drop me an email, I can buy and post up. Don't know about Qld sources.
Your posts are a worry, they dont do me any good whatsoever but on the subject of that rod...there was a place on Toombul Rd Northgate where I bought polymer from but I went there not so long ago to get more and they had moved to Brendale. I know they were manufacturing boat trailer rollers and bushes but more than that Chewy I cant help you. I cant even remember their name!I will have a look in the yellow pages and see if I recognise them and contact you.regards John
I'll find out where our machine shop gets theirs from, I'm sure it's a local supplier. How much do you need exactly?
about >> a couple of 2.5" O.D. x 150mm a couple of 3.0" O.D. x 150mmEnough to replicate the four Energy Suspension diff bushes.
how long did your diff bushes last as i have just put the same kit on as you and was woundering if its a fault with the bushes or maybe you were a little unlucky and got a bad one:YD
