Drinking. I love to get out for a good surf whenever I can, also like to play a little guitar, and chase some feral pigs.. no not the ones at the local pub
Hobbies, hobbies, let me think.... Surfing, until I moved a few hours from the coast a few years ago, but I cant stand it any more and Im moving back to the coast this month with any luck. Karate, same as above, need to get closer to the dojo to be able to get back into it again. Astronomy, that is until some low life broke into my house and stole almost everything including my uninsured telescope. Will be a while until I have the cash to spare to buy another one Wood working, I have spent quite a bit on this hobby. Nothing like seeing a decent project through to the end product. Ive just recently got into body building, something Ive put off for way too long, mainly due to family and friends prejudice about it, but now I say stuff em I use to do a lot of indoor rock climbing, but a scarity of good climbing partners saw that one die a slow death (my friends really hated this sport and loathed coming out with me after a while due to the shear physical strength required, plus they were a lot fatter than me ) Im also a scuba diver. My gear is all but stuffed now from excessive use and I need to invest a considerable amount of money for new gear, but I still hire gear. Photography. Dont really do as much as Id like to now because my gear is very old and worn and I need to buy new gear! (my gear came from cash converters and was a bit old already) Damn these hobbies cost an arm and a leg!. I have one friend who was inspired from my camera gear and now has all new gear and sells his pics as a side buisiness Im also an avid cyclist, bush walker and runner, and I play guitar. Maybe this will give some people an idea why I got an NA and why I dont think I could afford a TTs extra expenses:zlove:
Yup, we're very old school prog influenced... The album is available in Australia from our website (our US label doesn't have distribution here yet) plus you get the limited edition packaging. Jut go to the website and follow the ordering instructions and we'll ship one out to you!
haha for some reason doug i can see you in your squash gear. sweat bands shorts and all. trying to paly against a 20 year old
I'm with Pex, love ice skating. Use to play ice hockey over here in WA when I was a we youngster, but had to give it up when I blew out my knee. Would love to get back into it, but unfortunately they don't really have public teams like netball/basketball/cricket etc. Plus the cost of the equipment is crazy! These days I rollerblade with Sir Brad of Dubly when we get the chance and drinking seems to be a constant pastime for everyone in WA....I mean its only 10:30 and I'm already drunk *looks at boss* whoops.
I was a hi-fi enthusiast right up until I bought my zed. Since then, my funds have been redistributed away from head-fi gear. You should check out head-fi.org . The forums can be a lot more addictive than this one. Make sure you still have cash to burn after a z-love session. -- My new hobby is Running. I'm a heavy-set bloke with years of smoking under my belt. I found a website that detailed a routine to take you from Couch-Potato to Ethiopian Endurance Runner. I'll share it if any one is interested
wholy crap! what is my hobby! im a uni student, gets pretty full on so its hard to maintain hobbies... especially if you want to maintain relationships. i guess my hobby is drinking alcohol! its good because i can maintain my hobby and relationships with friends at the same time cars are fun to, cars girls drinking, yeahhh... played alot of footy (NRL Not the stupid ping pong crap) when i was younger, also done a couple of years of kick boxing. done karate once for like 6 months or so... boy was that a joke haha. hmmm i should get a hobby hey, i guess maybe during the holidays when i got some time.
My need to surf largely affected my choice of uni...(UOW) and I like to muck around on my guitar and drum kit...good for venting... Did a couple of martial arts over a 10 year period. Atm i'm being lazy and only playing indoor (soccer). Does the girlfriend count?
Im all ready a member at head-fi but i dont visit them alot as im happy with my current headphone set up i have spent $3-4k on just cassette tapes alone (im a analog freak) and im just about to spend $2-3k on the best cassette players in the world (nakamichi,revox...) got to love music
Here's a pic of mine I've posted before. (That's Semaphore jetty in the background, for anyone in Adelaide ) I started windsurfing when I was 10 (in 1986) so that's 21 years. This pic is from about 1992. I skated street for years and bladed vert, rode dirt jumps on MTB, first stood up on a surfboard when I was 8 or 9 but windsurfing is the best out of anything I've done. The combination of speed, huge jumps and landing on water if you get it all wrong just make is so much better than anyhting IMO (although I have still had my fair share of injuries from it, dislocated joints, burst eardrums and broken bones. Nearly drowned a couple of times ).
I used to Ballroom dance. I only did it socially, but THORUOUGHLY enjoyed it. I found it hilarious when i'd get the comments from my mates "you big poof" as they would. I laughed and replied "i dance with girls, you run around in the mud with blokes in short shorts... and i'm the big poof...?" since then i've taken up indoor footy (not soccer) AFL rules, a lot faster than normal footy- we play in epping at leisure city, totally reccomend that to anyone who hates the cold, and enjoys a run! I also love playing house (new addition i guess.) We've been in for just over 4 months now. Making a difference really makes your proud! (we bought it off a smoker, house stank! we spent 40 man hours shampooing one room of carpet!) 4x4'n get enough of that wonderful mud! oh yeah, i love chatting amongst you guys here too (except talking to you, you suck)
