    g'day,
what would be the best way to mount subs in a 2+2?
if in the boot, firing up? firing down?
the other option is to take out the back seats (no use for them) and build an enclosure there. that way there is a sub behind each seat (its for 2x12"s btw) and have the amp mounted in the boot floor.
how does that sound? anyone here had subs mounted behind their seats. what does it sound like?
    cheers.

Mounted facing slightly backwards and upward

so as to load against the hatch for better SPL, plus the longer you can make the distance between the sub and where you sit will make the amplitude of the sound wave much bigger (ie much louder) so making it head backwards before bouncing and heading forwards towards you gives the wave form longer to get bigger.Another thing to consider is by loading the subs (providing some kind of air compression/backpressure) allows you to overdrive the sub and let it last longer. If no loading an over driven sub will bottom out much more and shorten it's life a whole lot quicker.
