    Hi everyone,

I would be greatly appreciated if anybody could give me a little help, I have custom license plates as Im sure you all do also, but as you know the Z32 has an incredibly small rear license plate holder, and with normal plates they usually just bend but mine being custom they cant bend.

Does anyone know what you would use just to bring the plates forward on the rear.

    Thanks

Most people just hack into the bar and fit the number plate across the back.

Just cut down the rear corner of both sides and slide the plate into each cut.

How many letters is your number plate mine is 8 letters and reads fine
you can see here how much it sits in

Its probably a polycarbonate plate, they don't bend well

Edit: This is what i used to cut mine out

I did that with mine and it looks terrible. I have polycarbonate plates. To bend you need to heat it with a heat gun. Be careful though because they burn and bubble really easy. I'm going to get a replacement rear plate and cut into the bar as Brock has. Looks so much neater!

I used a block of wood on the Yellow Z as a spacer between the car and the plate, to make the plate more flush with the outer edge of the rear bar.

I'll try and find a photo

Yes they are polycarbonate plates I believe and even if they could bend, I dont exactly want to cause if I would like to remove those plates and place on a different car later, its gunna be annoying.

Are they called spacers that bring them forward?

    Spacing it out

Just a quick one to make people aware that if you space the plate out to sit flush with the out side of the recess you need to do somethig with your number plate light, if you block off the light you can be making your car unroadworthy :(

Just have the edges of the plates machine rolled...I did and it fits fine in a standard J Spec rear bar

You can get a defect for bending the sides of the plate...

Not true. Modification to the number plate is legal if the constraints of the vehicle lead it to be necessary, so long as it's readable from a 45* angle @ 20 meters.

AH yes but that does not stop the defect from being issued though, and if you try to make this point to the officer writing out the defect then I am sure he can find other issues he does not deem road worthy.
