can be used for 2 or 4 seater, the company also makes a harness that connects from the tail light wiring in the boot, as i'd hate to have anything illegal with my car

You're from tassie thought. So theres like only 3 police officers in total isnt there? Should be fine ;) Nothing dodgy ever comes out of tassie :p

If used for a bike rack though, doubt theres the need to get a tail light connector wired up.

Was there a load capacity for such a beast? Being that its mainly supported by the tie down hoops. Wouldnt have really imagined there be a whole lot of supportive weight there. 650Kg max or something?

Does it plug in to the wiring or is it spliced?
Will you post pics of the wiring harness? and where it attaches.

Anythings possible. Ive seen a bracket made that bolts into where the subframe secures to the chassis. For added support and load sharing.

Im not really concerned as it looks like a well engineered attachment, especially for a bike rack. But still curious as to its rated capabilities. As the hoops are ideally meant for securing the body to a fixed floor. Not necessarily towing from.

After all we have seen BennyC tow a 4x4 and car trailer behind his zed. IIRC though his tow hitch frame was mounted slightly different to this.

    Anyways. All good :zlove:

the weight limit is 1500lbs so about 680kg http://www.curtmfg.com/part/11703
the wiring harness ( which i don't have at the moment) just uses the splice clips to attach into the turn wire out of the left and right indicator, the brake light and also the tail light signal http://www.curtmfg.com/part/56175 but any auto sparky could wire one in just as easy.
I'm going to wait till i have the bike rack here and once that is on with the bike see if there is going to really be a need for the tail light bar

Spent most of the day unwrapping wiring harnesses in the engine bay. The joys of wiring tucks and component relocations lol

Retro fitted HNBR O-rings to the A/c for R134a gas and replaced the A/c compressor.

    Removed:
    AT flywheel
AT torque converter spigot (bitch of a job)

    Added:
    MT TT flywheel
    F1 clutch
MT transmission spigot (easy after step above)

    Converted:
NA transmission bellhousing for TT flywheel

    Moved:
Engine off stand, ready to be mated to gearbox

Doesn't sound like much, but seeing as the cars been in the workshop since Mayish 2013, this makes the move out of the workshop that little bit close (plus that AT spigot was an absolute pain in the arse)

(yes, I should really do a rebuild thread)

    ****,
just installed the manual boost controller today,
had it set too low at first, but screwed it in,
    and ****, I mean ****,
now I know why you guys like this car so much,

no more lagging around 2psi, now it goes straight up to 9 in milliseconds.

I need to sit down for a while, I think I shat myself too.

If you think that's good you should try turning up the boost to 15psi (but only on a dyno with knock sensor and after appropriate ECU tune)

moved my trans cooler. without the fan on it wasnt cooling at all. I removed the air con condensor and put it in front of the radiator. All is good with the world again.

took it out all saturday and went through a whole heap of E85. im getting sick of the boost drop off I experience as the engine swallows the compressor.

spinning the drag radials in first now so defiantely making slighty more power (I added another degree of timing up top and in mid range.)

Needs my turbo kit to go on now.

Put a new battery in my zed today and started it for the first time in over 3 years. Was totally unexpected as the car has fuel in it that's more than 4 years old
I then drove it out of its storage shed for the first time in over four years, the dust on the windows was soo thick I couldn't see out and it wouldn't blow off at speed either. Took her for a spin around the industrial area for 20 minutes to blow out the cobwebs and burn the rust off the brakes :br: She's now back to purring like a kitten :zlove:

Next move is a full service and a clean, then in for a blue slip :D

Well being the new owner of the Wizmobile, it needs QLD rego. Having learnt my lesson re: getting mods made legal, I got the mobile mod plate guy out yesterday afternoon.

He plated pretty much everything I needed. Front mount, turbos, noise tested, recaros, brakes, coilovers, adjustable arms, and surge tank. Great success! $500 well spent!

Now have the roadworthy guy coming out on Monday, and some fresh QLD rego plates will be added late next week because I am out on site from Tues morning to Thursday night.
