There is no way that will fit, Ian (stating the obvious). I take it the other base plate/rail is very different seeing you said it fitted? If you haven't already, I'd be contacting who you bought it from.

Sanouske - I'd hate to think how much shipping was for that box

yeah it's different to the one that fitted, like i said they both have the correct part number but i don't think the part number was on the correct part, i have contacted the company i bought it off, they wondered if there was a difference in mounting points between us and jap cars, from what i can tell there isn't, so hopefully it will be sorted out soon ( atleast the one that is in is nice, pity it's the passenger side)

No, there is no difference. The part they supplied is wrong. Showing them the pics should be clear enough. Just make if they send you another it is in fact correct before sending it.

yeah i plan on that, the stupid part is i've had them since feb but the seats only just arrived from the uk, so i would have known this earlier if i had trial fitted the bases at any stage in the last 5 months, and also sparco slide rails do not fit cobra seats unlike what a lot of websites and places say

Adjusted my Tein Flex damper setting to their softest preset. Yet to go for a drive to see what difference it has made. They were set to medium (standard) setting previously.

    Had my day in court.

Waited around for hours. Then got told that for my offence, I could fill out a form and get my fine in the mail, so I still dont know how much im up for.

On a brighter note, the policeman I spoke to said that my case is pretty typical and I might just be able to mod plate the cage (modified for 4point from 6), swap my steering wheel then re roady and register, so will see what happens.

To be safe in future tho, ride height will be raised and other stuff like brakes etc mod plated. Oh still need some sort of demister too.

Around $400. Odd that the sum of parts and freight charges are still cheaper them buying half these parts from Nissan aus.

Plus Coz is awesome to deal with! Replied to my emails when it was like 11pm their time. Good bloke.

I reckon a lot of that stuff you could've done yourself, and probably saved a heap of time from some elec trying to rip parts out of your dash and stuff...And I've found pros tend to break everything. And I'm not sure why you don't have a 3rd brake light :p
But each to their own and I don't know the full story :)

Hehe yeah i could probably have had a go at it myself, but don't have the right tools or the place too do it and body corp take a dim view of it. The third brake light wasn't on the car when i bought it, it's was a half attempted brazilian and the infill panel had been removed and the grooved area's where the light assembly would go has been filled in and welded up. And these guys i'm using come highly recommended from a few people around my way with "sporty" cars.

Filled in and welded up! Crazy! And that makes the car unroadworthy correct?
I've been doing car stuff outside my place. It's rented, but it's off-street and no one's complained. Nothing major mind you, no engine stuff. But I suppose you wouldn't get away with it everywhere.

It wasn't today, it was yesterday. But got the rwc inspection done on the z.

    Not much to do, just....

    Steering oil leak
    exhaust leak from middle join
    engine oil leak
    fix radiator mounting
    use batter holder plate
steering pump and drive belt needs replacing (all my belts should be new though?)
front parking lights not working (i don't have bulbs)
side mirror power switch not working
    connect sensor to catalytic convrter
front bar is loose and wires need to be fixed
replace cover under dash board and tidy up wiring

Most of it I was aware of. But got me with the ps belt, it should be brand new. I don't think it's the ps pump either, I am certain it's the high pressure hose and I have a new one ready to go, just need someone able to put it on.

Lucky enough he didn't bother about a ton of other things that are clearly an issue so I'm not complaining.

I doubt ill have that all sorted by next Monday, but it's good to have goals.

How does having a missing bit of trim affect a roady. Sounds a bit weak.

Also those cat sensors. Just cut them and pull out of the floor. Useless bit of unwanted sensory.

Lights and leaks would have been a few things I'd had fixed before getting an inspection...

So I got to unpacking the box.

And something I found funny. Never knew Jody Foster worked for Z1.

Overall I got lucky with receiving the box not damaged. However considering there was a third brake light, weather trim, etc the only damage was a small kink in the weatherstrip that goes from the windscreen and over the roof. It's only a small kink which I should be able to massage out and get straight.

Now just waiting for the urethane stillen lip to arrive from chilledpain.

And finish painting extra goodies.....then cut and polish...oh and the leather interior....

Shit! Still heaps to do, and no time to do it :(
