what fuel?

    hey guys i was just wondering what fuel to use in the Z...............i always use high octane fuel or premium at the very least but i would like to know what other people are using.............BP fuel seems to be shithouse and shell isnt great either...........the high octane mobile one seems to give mest best fuel economy but is the most pricey too............any suggestions for the best fuel for a 300zx

    opposite for me.. mobil is shit and bp is a goer. ultimate is very good

    i think i only used the premium one at bp..........but yeah it didnt seem to go as far as the mobil one..........

    i think that might be only 95 octane.. use ultimate... also the new 98 octane from caltex is good (not vortex its called premium)

    mobil 8000 is 98 octane

    Its pretty good just not one close to me i have to drive 14kms to get to one LOL so i goto BP only 2 kms away :)

    The one from caltex is vortex gold... vortex is there 95 octane vortex gold is there 98 octane...

    LPG is the best stuff to use in a Z.... :p hehe any high octane fuel is fine depending on your tune. But seriously, there are some extremely impressive results from some of the ford/holden forums with LPG powered cars lately.

    Ah, ya gotta love the N/A!
    The higher the price of petrol, the further the timing goes back (only to about 12 deg tho). Have run it on 91RON when Ultimate was up near $1.50 .

    Thats with a motor that is built for LPG tho ;) cannot just convert and go run some numbers motor wont last long..

    Yeah i can understand that.. But even tho it was around there still stock timing and did buy it.. I needed it so i got it oh wells now its lower its still good :)

    BP ultamite is the one for me have try'd the other's an wasn't impressed. But every Z isn't the same so all to their own opinion.

    Also is it true that the aus spec 300 ECU are tuned to 95RON an the jap spec 300 ECU tuned to 98RON not positive on this just what ive heard.

    I think the J-spec is tuned for 100RON fuel... someone will shoot me down if I'm wrong. And the Aus-spec is tuned to 95, 'cause that's what was available here when the car was released.

    Actually they are all converted and have been running strong for ages, if anything I would say they are outlasting our VG30s and we have done no conversions.

    got any links to them??

    I know of one VL turbo running GAS... driven every single day goes to calder runs 10's and drives home... the motor is fully rebuilt for LPG...

    Hope you guys can view that... It has changed abit got 20's on it now but apart from that still running very strong...

    yeah cheers searching has helped lots.............oh and i am a noob...although i try to do all the mechanical shit on my car myself some thing i just dont know yet.............
