    Hi All,

The HICAS red light on my dash just keeps appearing and dissapearing when I drive my car. Can somebody give me some advice on what to do in order to prevent that light from appearing again.

    Cheers,

    thanks for your help guys

Just to make sure, can I just put any type of power steering fluid into my nissan 300zx. Do you guys know of any website links that shows you and labells all of the components to a Nissan 300zx 1990 model engine bay. The previous owner of my car lost the car manual.

    Cheers,

    Check out the technical section

Button at top of page. In there you will find the full manual. The power steering tank is on the drivers side and is usually green. fill it up but leave some room at the top. You should be able to use any type of PS fluid.

    Cheers,
    Dave.

Actually you are supposed to use Automatic Transmission Fluid.

Use Automatic Trans Fluid in HICAS resevour (with Dexron)

    Hi Trumps300zx,

My car was doing exactly the same thing when I picked it up. I did some research in the Technical section and found out that my resevour was low and causing the light to display - IB is correct, you should use Automatic Transmission fluid in there, but it is also recommended one which has Dexron.

I purchased a Castrol branded Automatic Fluid with a name of TQ Dexron III on the label it was recommended for Japanese vehicles.

    Hope this assist.

    Cheers, Kaz.
