my brake pads are making a squealing noise when braking at low speed so i have decided to replace them....i couldn't take the noise anymore :N( i ordered a set of bendix ultimates today. does anyone have these on their car? what are they like? anyway, the brake pads that were on the car are SUMITOMO brand...(that's what it says on the back of the pads)...and i noticed that our calipers had the same name on them so i thought yeah these are stock units. however the compound on these pads is like nothing ive seen before, its like they are made out of metal (they shine!!) :| so thats why i'm confused...they dont look stock...:?)

    well....

I just put EBC street kevlars on my car and they squeal like all buggery as well, even after bedding in the brakes. Although, they are squealing less the more I use them. Maybe not bedded in properly yet?? who knows.Cheers

    I wouldnt worry too much....

...about nissan pads anymore, they are the worst thing put on the car, and I have no idea why they went with such useless pads! The ultimates are meant to be pretty decent for street use, but are very dusty. If you do a search for for them you will find plenty of posts about them:YD

Yeah I just put them in mine

Front end, fairly dusty, but that means less rotor wear.
Better than whatever was in there before, more bite and less fade. Just more dust

Installed with or without the anti-rattle..>

    shims ???
Reason I ask Mark is I replaced my front brake pads not long ago with the EBC Street Kevler pads WITHOUT the shims and don't have any problem at all with noises.Modern pads are designed not to use the shims.Cheers

    Oh.....

well I installed mine with the shims. Even put some of that anit-squeal grease on the back. I'll see how it goes, otherwise I may take out the shims..:) Dude, did you get my apology email? Still want the shifter bushes??Cheers

Installed my Street Kevlars w/o shims

as there were none fitted on the fronts. They work well, and have never squealed but do "creak" a little, e.g. on slight slope, release brake slightly to start rolling, then reapply brake slowly = creaking noise. Not worth worrying about, though.
