Hey all, In my never ending quest to fix my car, I've noticed something else appear recently. When in a Jam and the car gets hot, not only now (since I've put the engine back in) does the car play up badly I sometimes hear a Beep come from the back of the car. I've also herd some other strange noises from that area and I'm wondering, could I have a problem with my fuel pump? Anyone else had a beep sound coming from the back of their car before? And no it wasn't someone blowing their horn at me. Thanks, Marc.
2 Amps behind the drivers and passengers seat. But I tell you what though, that buzz I herd was loud as hell from the outside.
If it's a buzz then fuel pump or inverter for a light up panel as Erik said. If it's a beep, dunno, have you had a look in the boot for any thing that shouldn't be there?
where is the speaker for the beeping when you throw yourself into reverse??? it may be possible that it is going off randomly for random lengths and bursts...even when in drive
It's only in the auto's when your in reverse. Us real men with manuals don't have to worry about it as we know when we are in reverse
shutup scrawny was the car once an auto??? or always a manual??? if manual then dont worry about the reverse beeping comment
Was always a manual. Well does it sound like my pump is on its way out if its only starting buzzing recently (I never herd it before I yanked me motor)?
I've had a fuel pump buzz for years and still pump strong and not die. They just get a bit noisy with age doesn't always mean it's about to crash and burn. It doesn't hurt to check the fuel pressure to make sure though.
It is the reverse beeping alert. Auto cars have a little black box near antenna mast. Somehow it is malfunctioning when it is getting hot. Either replace or ditch it.
Really??? My car has a reversing beep, and it's a manual. NA Aus delivered though. Hmmm maybe I need to find out if it used to be an Auto. (VIN??)
