Unusual Radiator or wrong one.

Just got another 1990 TT Auto that was taken apart and parts put in boxes. It came with a radiator but no A/C condenser so I got a condenser from a wrecker. the problem is that the radiator that came with the car has the condenser mounts on the engine side of the radiator. The condenser should be mounted in front of the the radiator. The radiator mounts match the condenser brackets but are on the opposite side of the radiator.

Question. Is the radiator correct and the condenser mounts nearest the engine or is the condenser brackets /condenser wrong?

I know the condenser is correct but I am doubting that the radiator is correct.

    Any insights/thoughts/?

The condenser doesn't bolt to the radiator. It mounts to the radiator core support.

    Pics

Condenser front. Note upper mounting brackets. This side should be in front of the radiator but if i use what looks like the mounting brackets at the top the condenser will be in the wrong position.

The condenser lower mounting holes .

The radiator from the rear that is towards the clutch fan on the engine. If I mount the condenser using the screw shown the condenser will be in the wrong place. ie between the radiator and the clutch fan. Also the piping will not fit as the condenser is too far back.

    The rear of the radiator.

The rear of the condenser. Note the upper brackets that fit the rear radiator mounting screws.

What is going on? I know the condenser and piping came off a Zed but i am not sure about the radiator but it fits the enging and radiator bracket mounts.

    Help.

What is the first diagram from?

Thanks for the diagram immediately below. I have not seen the diagram before. I cannot make out where the two pipes for the auto transmission to the radiator are in the upper diagram. Can someone enlighten me?

2 pipes are for Auto Transmission oil cooler. That condenser looks fubar. Significant airflow restrictions with all those bent fins

That true about the fins but....

are the pipes for the transmission cooler in the top diagram on the left or the right?

The screw you highlighted is for mounting the fan shroud.

Auto oil lines fit to parts 21606B through D on the parts diagram, not sure what the actual bits illustrated are but that's the general area.

    That makes sense.

My transmission cooler pipes on the radiator are on the passenger side.

Question . Where do the upper condenser brackets bolt up to then?

steel flags with nutserts spot welded to the upper radiator support. They hang down in front of the radiator and have the rubber condenser mount bolted to them

Tahnk you. Found the correct mounts.

Just got this message and went out to the car and found the flags with the welded nuts as you said. The were behind a poorly taped up wiring loom.

Tektrader, Your assistance is very much appreciated. No thank you button so cannot select it.

Dude I answered your question two days ago. There is no justice in this world, only pain and heartbreak.

...also, you should have a Thanks button visible.

You are correct. I did not read you post properly. I humbly apologise for my for my mistake.

    Thank you for the advice.

I do not know what happened to the "Thanks" button. It used to be there. It could be because i have not posted recently. I will remember to that you when i get the button.
