hey guys on my 300zx the tires are quite worn but i have noticed that they r more warn on the outside of the tire than on the inside...its quite a difference which has made me curious if this is a serious problem and can anyone tell me what is causing this...i bought the car not 2 long ago and the tires have not been changed since so maybe it could b caused by the previous owner doing burnouts idk...help!!![TIS]
Hi two possible causes Under inflated tyre pressure or Rear wheel alignment. Non 4 wheel steer cars eg 1990 NA have a rear wheel alignment adjustments. Make sure you have atrusted wheel aligner do the job as not everybody does a good job.
it's unlikely you would get positive camber problems, as the natural sag for our suspension would give negative camber figures thus wearing on the inside of the tyre. If your Toe is far out, it can actually give some effect on camber aswell, so that could be a possibility... End of the day, i'd get a 4x wheel alignment done when you replace those tyres.
Is it possible that the car actually has too much negative camber and the tyres have been swapped before you got the car since you haven't had it for long? Do the tyres have a universal or directional tread pattern on them?
Agreed mate, new tyres, alignment and balance. It's common for wear on the inside of the tyres cos our cars drag the inside edge plus as Benny said worn suspension sagging old bushings ect. Just get it over and done with... change em. :br:
cheers for the advice guys my car is a n/a 1990 zx im just going 2 replace the tires and get the wheel alignment checked out. and suspension is new so cross that off the list
