i have been looking for a while to get a manual twin turbo 300 but i have also noticed there seems to be alot of autos out there just wondering what sort of transmissions to engine type epople have got and what you prefer?? love to her feedback from people with auto twin turbos to see if it worth looking at thanks
Well, since you have my old girl I can comfortably say stick to the NA 5sp. That car is a gem! Wish i had never sold it. Not as fast as the TT but look how well AZA pedals his! Cheers Geoff
my zed (your old 1) has been a great car and runs extremely well but the power of a nicely worked TT is amazing and i dont think i could ever not own a 300 they are great cars but i am moving up to a TT
QS I'd say I'm really a manual man at heart but my last two cars (928 Porsche and TT 2+2) have both been automatics. The Nissan has a much nicer box. Only drove one manual 2 seater turbo and it seemed to wind out pretty quickly in the gears. The auto of course just blurs into the next gear up or down. The TT auto boxes are pretty responsive I would have thought. Against this with a manual you can probably have a lot of fun in 2 or 3rd gear. Good luck! John
I've got a TT automatic and it performs quite well indeed -- more than enough power when you need it. I've considered converting to manual but I'm not sure it would be worth it considering I use the car as a daily driver (usually in peak hour traffic ).
tt autos are just as good as manuals....i got an auto and love it, i use it as a daily driver to work n stuff n couldnt be bothered changing gears in traffic cheerZ
5 speed all the way. You don't get the same feeling blasting though the hills in a auto as you do in a manual. Took my zed through the hills back when I first bought her and fell in love with her than and there. It?s intoxicating and I?m currently experiencing severe remissions since losing my licence 2 ? months ago. Not in the zed though
there will always be a divided view on what is better. the simple answer is they are both as good as each other it all depends on how you want to drive it, will it be a daily commuter?, will you be more interested in drags or track? have you driven both already so you know what to expect? it isn't a case of one being faster or better than the other it depends on what you want out of the car :zlove:
SAW kit all the way .!!! I honestly love what my saw kit did to convert my TT auto into a 5 speed fun machine and when I have to go through the city its back to auto at the press of a button.! Cant beat it with a big stick.!lol ($1350 diy install)
I've got a TT auto, just love it, but i am planning to get a TT manual in the distance future :zlove:
Cheers guys got pretty good response from few and good to see that the autos are highly rated i am planning on find an auto and a manual then test driving them both and making my own decision cheers guys
If you want a manual, get a manual. Don't bother going through the bs of looking at how much it costs to convert to a manual 2 months down the line. It's not worth it.
