    1) I assume these kits are just Turbos and will need custom parts like pipes etc made up, so $3,600 is just for turbo kit and not for whole bolt on kit ? Is that correct ???

    2) If you do get a whole kit, it will require engine out to instal ? Is this correct ???

If i can get a precise answer i may be interested as i have started to save for this upgrade a little while back now that it is pretty much the last mod i would like on my car ?!?!

    Thanks

    1) the price is for the turbos only (with oil lines, gaskets etc) you need 5 bolt dumps pipes to connect them to your exhaust

    2) yes engine out

The price of $3600 I posted was for one set only delivered including GST and customs broker fees. The GB MATTZ is proposing should work out at around $3340 give or take, based on a saving of USD$195 per kit.

Once you have that you will need five bolt dumps and you're ready to install. There's a big range in the price of dumps from about AUD$500 a pair to AUD$600 a side if you go top of the range CES.

To install you need engine out and then modify one of your engine mounts. Minivan makes a good point in that you may require exhaus work to accomodate your new dump pipes.

All in all it's a pretty good price but keep in mind that you need a pretty healthy engine to begin with if you want to take advantage of this upgrade. I remember a while back you mentioned a dodgy compression reading? Maybe do a leakdown test to determine engine health before doing something like this as essentially bigger turbos and bigger power are going to work your engine harder.

Then if you really want to work to it's full potential upgraded injectors and management would see you making some good power.

    re: engine compression

Where do you make the cut between a good/healthy engine and a one that is not suitable for further power mods?

This is a genuine question.. not trying to take the piss...

well for me, an engine that aint smoking or feeling really down on power, bearings arent making odd noises and compression test shows up even.

if it aint broke, break it.. :)
