Looks HAWT! Have loved the supra's since the Mark IV came out and that definitely looks hotter than a 350Z by a mile! Almost ferrari-ish!
front bar looks like an astin martin... then the lights and guard, bonnet etc look like porche/ferrari360..
I just started saving my pennies. Looks like an Oct 2007 release date. There will be a hardtop convertible with approximately 275bhp and the coupe version with a massive 450bhp. Which to choose!
Needs a new front bar. But apart from that I'm a fan. Supposedly going to come with a 450hp V8. We'll see.
OMG that is hot. Sad as it is, I've always wanted a MKIV supra. The Z was actually my second choice due to budget but I've come to love it. But I feel it grows lonely in my garage and something like that would slot next to it just nice. Is there any word on the powerplant they're gonna use? Like size/turbo'd etc.?
Actually, just found this: * Year: 2007? * Style: Coupe and Convertible * Engine: 5.0 L DOHC V8 generating 450 hp and 383 lb of torque (coupe only) or a 3.5 L V6 putting out 350 hp and 275 lb of torque. * Price: Approximately $40,000 for the V6 version and $50,000 for the V8 powered Supra. Now, imagine that V8 with a twin turbo kit (which will surely be developed).
"May even give the GT-R a run for it's money"? "The all-new R35 Skyline GT-R will use a 3.5-litre V8 engine that will produce around 400ps" Seeing as hot the new Supra will have a 5L V8, I'd say it will more than give it a run for it's money. Though of course those details will probably change now that Toyota have given out their initial specs, same way Sony decided to delay their console in order to outdo the Xbox.
Haha...me too. Was looking at supra's and the price difference at the time was about 5G......and then I saw the zed, took it for a drive and loved it so I went in that direction. Still always wondered if life would've been a little sweeter with my aerotop supra though.
Not aerotop Weren't they only in NA version? I remember that you couldn't really turbo them cause of body flex. Or that it cost more to reinforce them?
I remember hearing a few years ago that this was supposed to be a V10 It was sposed to happen when Toyota started winning Formual 1, as far as I know they haven't won anything yet, though Formula 1 is running V8's now... Mmm, I think I want one of these, still keep the Z though :zlove:
Yeah thats correct.....but I still would have drop a TT in that beast! who cares about flex, with chicks see you boosting in the aerotop you slow down and say howdy doo!
Looks MUCH nicer then a 350Z But then again, maybe the 450 horsies in influencing my opinion. Not sure on the convert, especially the rear. Toyota build excellent engines... twin turbo would be insane! Egg
