Tire recommendation for stock wheels.

Discussion in 'Non Technical' started by FatChickThriller, Apr 22, 2015.

  1. Need some new rubber for my freshly recoated OEM wheels. I've been looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 or Bridgestone RE050. However, does anyone have some first hand recommendations?

    Yeah. Black round ones.
The ones that are flat on the bottom don't work too well. :)

The two you have mentioned are fine as are the Eagle F1's , it all depends on how your going to be driving the car. And your budget.

If you're running OEM stock wheels, then the correct sizing is in the FSM.
If you're after a quality performance tyre the Toyo Proxes T1R's will suit your requirements.

Not first hand experience but I've seen the pilot sports in use and they're an outstanding tyre, our roads would be safer if more people could afford them.

+1 for the KU36. Really good in the wet and dry. Might be a bit too soft if doing a lot of km's though.

If buying from ebay learn how to read the manufacture date. I seen people buying from ebay and getting aged rock hard rubber.

and ask before purchase as there aren't any strong rules on selling old tyres so if the seller doesn't give you an age you wont have grounds for a complaint.
