    Anyone know how much a performance shop will charge to change the timing belt on a 300zx tt ?
    Thanks

    At a very rough guess, $600+. But that's all you'll get asking on here, guessing. Ring some local places, and get some prices.

    there is a few hours labour there. to do it properly you need to take out the radiator, cam covers, fan shroud etc...so you can see where the timing points are.

    may i ask why you just want the timing belt changed?

    mate, dont do a partial major service. do it properly and get what is supposed to be done, done.

    here.... this is what you WILL NEED to get it done properly, its not just a matter of changing your timing belt. you have your water pump and all your other belts, thermostat, springs etc just to name a few;

    so about 1k for parts above plus about 6-800 on labour

    WIth all the other gear you should change at the same time, upto $1200 in labour, less for a shop who knows what they are doing.

    or anywhere else in the engine bay? im not sure how you can check to see if it has been done without it but anyone can just tell you that is has...when it hasnt. make sure you get it all checked out so you def know it has been done.

    either way, i would do it anyway...just to be sure...then, do a plenum pull and replace all your warn water hoses and get your injectors cleaned

    I picked it up for a good price so i dont mind spending money on it.
    Have to save up about 2g for the service then i guess.

    I never put the stickers on any of the cars I have done the 100K on. Can't trust them anyway...

    What did iut cost you to do did you buy the kit and do it yourself or pay someone to do it?

    i bought the kit from caz along with the extras kit and a metal low radiator hose. chrispy installed it all for me, for free, cause im a nice bloke lol

    to get a shop to do it, it will cost around 800 as mentioned. there is and will soon be a better tech written up for those that want to do it by themselves.
