    Hi guy's following up the issue with the timing belt, I've had a sales rep come to my workshop and inspect the belt. He assured me that they would come up with something for those who have this faulty belt. The sales rep had organised for one of their TEC guys from melbourne to fly up on the 18th of October to inspect the fault as I wouldn't give them the faulty timing belt. I'm hoping for a good outcome.

    Thanks Emmanuel

    Couple questions, Emmanual --------->

    1: how do they find out who to compensate as you have said that your workshop hasn't installed any of the suspect belts and I'm sure most workshops aren't going to be keen to do belt checks just to check unless there is $ in it for them...

    2: Are they going to do a voluntary recall on a whole batch of belts or just for those who complain ... the real problem here is how is any mechanically challenged zedder going to know whether they have a faulty belt unless they get someone else to check the CAS position in relation to base timing etc (which is still not conclusive evidence of a bad belt) or remove their timing belt covers etc and count teeth...

    3: Which workshop installed the faulty one you have ...

    This smells like a nightmare for everyone to me ...

    According to the sales rep

    it may have been just a batch of the belts that were faulty. I am unable to tell you what their plans are for any compensation until it gets inspected by their TECH guy or until they advise me. The second I find out I will let you all know and I hope that they do the right thing for anyone involved. Sorry if i'm stressing anyone out, but this must be resolved.

    Thanks

    Emmanuel

    Emmanuel, I'm following this closely ...

    although I'm in Melbourne. I had one of these belts fitted in December last year. Please continue to post your findings and their responses and actions.

    that's fine emmanuel .. but following on from the zed4life post.... i think

    what we need to know is how big a batch is involved (that is, how many defective belts were sold?), how are effected owners going to know or be told that they may have a faulty belt .. and a lot more ...:unsure::unsure:
