Yeah, they mentioned in the vid that it was an homage car drawing on the 240z and 300zx as well as all of the others.

I really like the side profile, looks sporty. The car itself is 5 inches longer, a little narrower and a little shorter that the 370Z/350Z. Should make for an interesting road presence as I always felt the 350/370 was stubby looking.

Love the V6TT 6MT RWD platform, that's the key. Should be a great car to drive with the turbo torque, should be a big tuner car because of turbo tuning capabilities.

Interior is typical 350/370 which is probably the worst part of it for me, I think the organic shapes are very noughties. Those seats look useless as well!

Overall I like, excellent drive train format and good looking.

Interesting effort, but it doesn't do anything for me ...... it just looks too much like any number of other cars.

They hit the nail on the head with the Z32 styling and it's been downhill ever since (IMHO)

Other than as a marketing tool, I don't see the point in fitting a 6 speed box ! It will have twin hairdryers, so there will be no need for a 1st gear that will be low enough to pull out tree stumps

If they ever go on sale in Oz (which is debatable), I won't be lining up to trade in my zed

if you look at some of the details in isolation they look ok but together they don't work. Perhaps this was designed by a team where everyones opinion mattered.

Overall I think it looks good, not overstyled like the supra. Front looks fine IMO, the grille is slightly too big and needs something to break it up but the shape is OK.

Back needs a bit of work though. Tail-lights need to be longer and the nissan badge smaller to emphasise the width of the car. The black roof (i hope this is just an option) makes the section between the hatch glass and kammback appear too thin. Fairlady Z badge also looks kind of glued on as an afterthought and not really designed into the car, hope thats just a prototype thing.

Better than the 350/370 but not quite reaching 240z/Z32 aesthetics.

Good to see some well thought out and different opinions! I definitely think it is more successful than the Supra, the Supra just has way too much detail and could have been a lot better. The original supra is quite a timeless design. The late eightes and early nineties seems to be a golden period for the Japanese with the 300zx, r32 GT-R, RX-7 s6, Supra and NSX all staying attractive over time.

Looking forward to seeing how the proto ends up in production form... hopefully it does go on sale here! It would be a shame if it didn't after having the 350Z and 370Z supported.

Agree Harts, in my opinion the 90's was the pinnacle of some really good work over the previous 20 years for Japanese industry. Clear design ideas, incredible precision and quality control.

I've just had a look at Mint32's red 2+2. It really drove home how ugly this new 400z is.
