Small update on the Pod Filter, here it is Will I have any issue's because of it's placement? Cheers, Dean.
I wouldn't be driving it in heavy down pours or though any big puddles. Looks like its got its mouth open ready to take a drink, and we all know what that does to these motors
dont drive through any deep puddles or in heavy rain  nah should be ok, serious about the puddles though
Coil Pack Connectors & Spark Plugs, So my dad and I finally found some time where we were both free so we decided to install my new Coil Pack Connectors & NGK Iridium Spark Plugs. The goods that went in: Some pictures of my old Coil Pack Connectors: Now you can see why they needed to be changed One of the new Connectors. Being soldered in. Heat shrink was added just after this picture. The finished product Feels good to finally get them out of the way, hopefully the next write up I have is slightly more interesting for you to read  Cheers, Dean.
2K Light Install. Hello all, it's been a while This morning my Genuine 2K Lights came in the post from the CZP GB that Matt (murci) held. Got them to my house and couldn't wait to install them. Thought I'd get some pics of the stock lights for memories sake, I know they are dodgy, but garage pics suck After that I started pulling off the stock lights with a hair drier and some patience when I came across this wire... Opened up the little case and it went nowhere... Just ended in the case. The previous owner strikes again with his crazy wiring (Much more on this when the I post up about my sound install ) Piccy of the car without lights, the amount of dirt behind it was ridiculous The got a little stuck when I saw these wires coiled around the brake wires on the right hand side light... Thought I better give someone a call before I just hacked them off, plus I hadn't got my brake lights working, so Mark (Jedi-77) got a call haha. He told me to plug in the little black box on the right hand light to get the brakes working, then told me that the wires might power the markers on either side of the car. I tested this when we got off the phone and he was correct, they will be wired up correctly tomorrow Thanks Mark! Finally the lights went on and what a difference, looks much better than the stock lights. Sorry about the shitty pics, will get some better ones when the Z is clean Hopefully I'll post up about the ordeal that was my audio install tomorrow... :zlove:
Did EXACTLY the same thing today haha, but at least my wiring was all normal The amount of crap behind there really is crazy
Yeah.. the 2000 spec lights look awesome. They are the best rear lights for the zed, nothing else comes close. Cheers
They dont have em on the oz specs, my jap spec had them but they were just solid reflectors. Some do light up but i believe they were an option, most are disconnected on compliance.
I think he's talking about the big ole squares either side of the numberplate on Aus-spec's From memory, the one on the left (Pass-side) is a reflector and the one on the right (Driver's side) has some function as a fog light of some description?
Ah shit yeah your right just re-read the post... yeah just one lights up.. apparently its a fog light or something..
Clear Marker Install. Today I installed my clear markers Some pics of the old stock lights... Off the lenses came and the clean up began. Post clean up After a quick spray with some chrome paint... And the finished install I'll get a picture of them glowing at night ASAP! :zlove:
Sound System Install. A few weeks ago some mates and I got around to installing my sound system to replace my shitty one that was in the Z when I got it... Little did we know just how much work was going to be involved. First the front speakers came off to reveal some crazy rough cuts that the previous owner left me with... Then the boot trim and rear speakers came out. We then began to test fit everything before we started putting things in... This is when the problems began... The rear speakers were too big for the stock brackets that housed them, so we got to work moddifying them so that they would fit. Showing a nice flush finish after a while mucking around Then came the mounting of the front speakers... This was by far the biggest hassle, as the holes that the previous owner left were cut very badly, trying to line everything up was a nightmare! Luckily the speakers came with door clips that let the screws grab onto something other than the door card. After a ridiculous amount of test fits and attempts at getting them in straight, we finally got them in! I finally got the clean look I was after! At this point we decided to get started on the amp. What we found amazed us... The previous owner ran a 8 gauge wire from the battery, down into the front left guard, and the wire dissapeared from there. We were stumped. When we inspected the amp the wire was nowhere to be seen... After ages trying to follow the cable we finally found it... He had run it outside the car and inside the door gromit... At this stage the cable had turned into a tiny black cable that was meant to be supplying power... We were amazed that someone could do such a bad job... But it got worse. Once we followed the "power" cable to the amp, we found it was connected the the "Remote" terminal... All my "Power" cable did was turn my amp on, it supplied absolutly no power at all to my system... Probably why my previous system sounded so shocking! Then the wiring of the new amp began, and yet again, more troubles. The wiring was horrible and all over the place. An example of the work of the previous owner... The wiring issues being sorted! We then ran a new 4 gauge cable from the battery to the new amp. I decided to hide my amp underneither my passenger seat, this meant the seat came out and the wires had to be run underneith the carpet. The amp being wired up The clean up of the wires. After that the seat went back in and the system was tested... It sounds amazing. Great clean sound, was so relieved to have it done. Over the weekend 20 hours was spent on this install! Sorry for the massive post, but it was a massive effort from everyone involved. Till next time :zlove:
Well done lad Hellava job that sound install. Sure makes a difference when theyre neat and you know whats going on though. I had a wee peak behind the head unit in mine and the wiring there looks about as much fun as yours. Keep at it, im enjoying this thread!
