Hey guys, Well after 2 years of fun the dream is over. Last night, after making a sharp turn in the wet my back kicked out, ended up going through a tree then hitting a pole. My Zed, a 1993 TT Auto Hard top 2 seater in Pearl White has been officially written off, and I only have (had) third party insurance. Will post for sale soon on this site, either as a wreck or for parts (exhaust, leather seats, rear spoiler, certain panels, interior, etc etc). Had to tell someone . So as a warning, drive safe, and insure yourself. Ari. P.S. Besides alot of pain, I'm ok, and no-one else was hurt.
ouch.. damn man sorry to hear that.... glad ur ok but... im sure ull be up on ur feet in a new zed soon enough....wont u?
crashin bad luck man, im sure we can all relate , considered buying a rolling shell and transplanting ? main thing is that your ok, cars can always be replaced, people and body parts cant.
Glad to hear your ok.. this is just a reminder to all the yougsters out there with zeds.. esp tt zeds .. take it easy esp in the wet and remember cars can be replaced limbs cannot... ( youngsters hehehe im 29 am i still a youngster??) btw.. those leather seats sound tempting
Sorry to hear about your accident Ari. Definitely not a good feeling, especially when it involves the zed. Having smashed up my car two weeks (thank god its not the zed) ago I know how quickly things can turn sour. For everyone. Take car on the road, I cant stress that enough!!!!!!!!!
yeah, that's really sad to hear, but happy to hear you're ok. just think that you're lucky, you could have hit an oncoming car, a pedestrian... it could have been worse. you'll get another Zed i'm sure!!!
glad to hear that you are ok.. i had a similar incident but i got off lucky missed a tree by about the length of my hand. i had full comp so i was lucky if anything happened would of been able to get funds for a new car... now after doing my TT conversion and being a p-plater im going to have to pay over 4k a year insurance for full comp and am going to have to go to 3rd party fire and theft hope it all works out and a new z is in your garage soon
Good to hear your ok though. So easy to slip in the wet hey. Just a little tap too much and once it starts sliding the wrong way you just know whats coming next :/
glad to hear you're ok... btw with these cars, its my honest opinion that spending $400-$500 per tyre on the rears is a wise move, you need that wet-weather traction man either that, or believe it or not, to be safe, you actually have to intentionally spin ur rears often enough that you become familiar with it and know how to handle it, going to advanced driving courses would be great also... so check around for boys in blue and do-gooders, and get in the habit of spinning ur wheels on take-off and gear changes etc... but not mid-corner of course! the more familiar you get with feeling it happening, and developing a feel for your limits of traction, then the better you will be with knowing how hard you can corner etc and how to correct the oversteer etc try to develop your experience as a sportscar driver is what i reckon :zlove:
Badluck man, ive been in a major accident aswell so i know how you feel, esp when you loose your love and joy atleast you made it
Thanks for all the kind words people, I really do appreciate it. I guess you always feel like you're in control of your car, until you actually lose control; I certainly did. I might be able to post pics soon (off a camera), otherwise I'll wait until the car is towed to my panel beater from the holding yard for some proper pictures. It hurts knowing I won't be able to drive it again How quickly life goes from driving to your gf's joint to watch a movie, to being $20k down, driving my 1988 Nissan Skyline..least its a Nissan!
Thats terrible bro. I feel your pain. One things for sure....I know im gonna be a bit more careful taking those corners in the wet. How fast were you going exactly if you recall?
Just like the grim reeper himself...glad to hear you're ok but I WANT TO BUY the wreck. Would you be kind enough to offer me 1st option on it? I am desperate for stock. Cheers John
Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but glad ur OK Hey John, you can only have the car if you save me those two parts I enquired about last week LOL :zlove:
I saw this last night and nearly cried!!! I was driving down stud road and saw the maroondah towing truck with zed on back .... had to get through some traffick and nearly cried when i saw the front. This was a real clean zed and i feel for you. Hope you can recover some of the $$ by parting out etc etc. Chris
sorry to here mate, hope you get another zed soon lesson learned the hard way sadly QUOTE=pexzed]Hey John, you can only have the car if you save me those two parts I enquired about last week LOL :zlove:[/QUOTE]

The dream aint over... you've just gotta get up, have a shower, go to work for a while, once you've worked long enough, you can go home, relax, and when your ready, the dream is there for you again. Once you find this dream, it's in your head forever...you just gotta relive it down the track a little.
Skip the shower, theres money in overtime to be had! Sorry to hear about your loss mate, thankfully your okay and can begin the rebuilding process once again. Hope you are still keen for another zed down the track :zlove:
