I just thought i should post this you guys to read.
It is regarding my search for a Z.I met the dodgiest seller. He ran me around the bush. To make a long story short. He confirmed a price with me
Then he went and SOLD it to another guy who left a deposit ($1000 more that me) even though he did not even ask me for a deposit. Then i had to talk to him for ages to tell him that what he did was wrong cause he knew that i was going to buy it (based on the mechanical report). And then i told him that i would give him ($500 on top of what we originally agreed on) because he kept telling me that he would have to give the other guy double his money back.I got the car checked by spencer at his workshop.
Ironically spencer was the guy that did the compliance on this car, but some things had been changed since this time.
Then i got the car checked out. Mechanically it was fine, however there were several problems with suspension rods,
bushes etc.The funniest thing was that this guy didn't even like me taking it for a test (bit suss) but he kept mentioning that the car was fine and he knew what he had.It was funny to see his face when then Put the car up on the hoist and they asked him where his CAT CONVERTERS were, he was like "What do you mean?" Dodgy f%&#ing guy.Altogether on the original we agreed to i would have needed another $2000 just to get it up to scratch. Then $400 for transfer registration because he was gonna just put the sale price as $10,000.Roadworthy (had to be done by ME) = $70
New tyres (had to be done by me) = $250Altogether the car was nice but he was a prick. And i had to let it go :( .Maybe i will have some luck later on.Hope you guys enjoy the read.
Comments and others experienced is very welcome.

    Was it a red manual........>>

I looked at a red manual last year while looking at cars with another member and it had been complied by Nissport. It had a very fresh paint job that the owner tried to tell me was over a year old, and that weld line that crosses the sill panel at the rear of each door that someone was aking about a few days ago was nonexistant on the passangers side. It had been bogged over at some point when the car had been repaird following an accident. Needless to say I advised the guy I was looking at cars with to back away from it unless he really loved it and was prepared to check it extensively.

    Give him the arse..

matey. It's not worth jumping into anything too quickly when it comes to buying a Z32. Continue to shop around and I'm sure one will come up soon enuff. Extra research now can save you heaps in the future. I hunted for about a year before I found my convertible.
    Good luck.:YD

    Nox...?

Hey Noxster, can you please post a pic of your convertible, I'm curious as to what they look like and can't be on the net for long :)my other half has a '90 z32, which he bought for 14,800 - it was a beautiful test drive, we only realised there was something wrong on the first cruise - he had changed the oil the night before, and realised it was sticky. The stickyness in the oil was an additive, to prevent the oil burning through the shot turbo seals (if i remember correctly).
On the cruise, the others noticed smoke puffing from the exhausts.
We figured it was the turbos, he got the $ together to get it fixed, one day he came to pick me up from work and his starter motor died. When it was replaced, he got the workshop to do a compression test, it was down to 100 on the 4 cylinders they could easily reach.
Be very careful when buying a Z, perhaps get someone to check the oil for you.Good luck Ang, they're great cars, hope you find one that has been taken care of.-Erin
