Thanks for having us along. I'm looking for a Z now so it won't be too long until I have issues of my own you can all deal with! Also, if someone wants to help me look for a Z I could use it, I don't understand exactly how passing pits works here, what they look at etc
I'll gladly help if you need it... You won't have to pass pits unless you buy an unregistered car, which I do NOT recommend...
Buy one that's registered. That's the biggest tip!!! Edit: And you don't go over the pits every year here. If you bought a car back in 1960 and kept it registered every year since, it will still be legal to drive (probably an overstatement, but you get my drift).
I understand that, and I would prefer a registered car, but the best looking ones claim unregistered. Is it really that hard? I mean, nothing could be harder than Vic's road worthy's? Plus I could probably save myself a few bucks if I get lucky and find one relatively problem free. I may know a lot about cars, but I know jack about Zeds. My main concern is electrical issues, I've always been terrible on that side of the bed and don't plan on doing anything about it, and the electrics in a Z is way out of my league of old cars I'm used to dealing with.
You'll get screwed over for the little things... It's not hard, just time consuming and could cost you a lot of money if you are unlucky. I bought an unregisterd Skyrine last month and still haven't passed the pits.
where are u bringing your car to get the inspection kevin? coz i asked where was the easiest place, and josh told me midland brought to midland and they found just 3 things, steering rack boots, oil leak and the bonet didt open properly, went the second time the guy didnt even took a minute to inspected and i passed.
I take it to welshpool and rock up at 6am lol All depends on which inspector you get and what kinda cars he likes
