If you physically pull the engine yourself

then we can show you how to replace the det sensor .

Seriously, if you get an extra long plenum bolt (check tech section for details) we can mount it onto the top of the plenum.

Not the factory position. but still a working det sensor.

Personally, I'd just bypass with the resistor. The worst type of engine damaging detonation happens at high RPMs but unfortunately, the ECU stops listening to the det sensor from around 3500+ RPM.

The det sensor is really there to protect the engine from 'fred nurks' using low octane fuel then flooring the throttle up steep hills at 20KPH in top gear ...;)

Will there be an air compressor available on the day? I need to check for boost leaks. I have the tester but no air compressor. Anyone else that needs a leak test is welcome to use the tester too...

    FTW: Dick Smith Part Number

We can easily do that for you.

If you could pick up say 20 of these resistors :
    Res CF 1W 1M0 Brn-Blk-Grn-Gld - part number R1548

@11cents each from Dick Smith, I'll buy the others off you (I'm out of stock of these ones):zlove:

Seems not all Dick Smiths stock resistors of any kind anymore - only selected stores :(
