Does anyone know just how much HP the stock 2 seater TT fuel pump is rated to?

i see some people have upgraded to a bosch pump - but at what point do you max out the stock pump?

cars like shifters, fleets JP's are these cars still using the aftermarket pump or the stockie?

Have seen quite a few that run up to 600RWHP on OEM TT fuel pump. 2 and 2+2 are the same part. How reliable it will maintain that flow and pressure will be dependant on the condition of the pump you already have.

Thanks for that Karl, altho are you sure they are the same part?

I believe WazTTed found out differently the hard way......

They maybe physically different but since they are feeding the same engine, the specs on them would have to be the same.

    Yep

Here is a pic of my stock fuel pump.

We did make 329rwkw with stock pump running on the edge though.
Always best to over do fuel to be safe.

    500 - 600

I've read that they are good for up to 500 - 600rwhp as well.

So if that's the case, why have people changed to a Bosch or Walbro pump when they are running less HP? Could it be a cost issue? I know the OEM Pumps are expensive...maybe this is the reason...

    Cheers

some people probably do it for a bit of wank factor too. like 1/10 :p

Its more to do with the fuel rail and injector size. The bigger the injector and fuel rail bore the quicker it can deliver the fuel. Guys in the UK running 850cc injectors find that they are starved after about 4 seconds.

Most have gone for 2 pumps and use the old HICAS pipes to deliver fuel to engine bay and feed both rails indevidually from the front.

OEM fuel pump works fine for a few 500+rwhp cars I know of over hear.

The biggest problem with std pumps is that they don't 'whine when they prime'. Hektik:cool:

we're still running the stock pump in the AMEC race car. about to fit a SARD regulator to see how that performs, after the track day this saturday though as we dont have time to get the car on the dyno.

Over do it were possible. Mr zedski why dont they just run new braided -8 or -10 fuel lines from the tank to the fuel rail. Thats what I am doing with my setup. I think its -10 supply -8 return and -6 nitrous system supply line and running Aeromotive pumps to try something different. To use the hicas lines sounds a little dodgy to me but hey if it works why not I guess.

-10 fuel hose is massive. It is a matter of getting the whole system sorted as running huge 850cc injectors is overkill but what is the rest like. You need good power and earth to the pumps which is often neglected as in using a relay and good wire and power feed from battery, twin fuel filters and not bling rock stoppers, -8 feed and -6 return is good for 800hp and probably more but if going more power than this then may need bigger, decent size reg and twin feed to fuel rail and if going over 700hp then after market rail.
Also best to use threaded fittings as ports found out at Phillip Island.

The other problem with stock pumps is they are often worn out.
