^^hrmm i heard the legal height was the steering wheel height. anything above the height of that would be deemed illegal

    Another idea

I've been thinking about the same thing for a while. I don't want to use up the second DIN as it currently has a flip out screen in it, and in the future I want to add a PC touch screen that uses both DINs.

I have one gauge fitted in the A pillar, and I like it. However what I would like to do is modify the A pillar trim and mould a fibreglass mount into it, rather than using the Autometer pillar trim. Autosalon magazine did an article about how to do this a year or so ago.

I hate the Mickey mouse looking holder....really hate it.

I had thought about replacing factory dash cluster with all aftermarket and until you posted pics of DUB's Z I didn't know anyone had even attempted it.

I like the idea behind the sTs holder, but I'm yet to see one that I actually like the look of. They always look out of place.

What I REALLY want to do is permanently modify the dashboard. I would like to get another dash from a car (like a 350Z, some Holden?s etc) that has the gauge holes already moulded into it. Then graft the gauge holder into a Z32 dash. Of course it means you will then need to have the whole dash recovered....but not many people would go to this much trouble, which makes your install that bit more unique. It does also mean finding another dash that is slanted in a similar way to the Z.

A lot more work involved in the last idea, but I personally think it?s worth the trouble.

    Cheers

i dont see why you would need so much, and i doubt u will need to see them all the time, how about put them in the glove box??

Alot of them are for diagnostics. If your driving and somethings starts to feel "not right" you can check by having a quick look around. "oh, not voltage, must be radiator" or "hmm, low boost and high engine temp" etc. etc. They need to be visible so you can check while driving.

The 1000HP Jun skyline has like 10 or 13 gauges or something stupid. Like 2 or 3 boost gauges, three for temp (front, middle and rear) of engine etc.
