1996 2+2 NA auto in silver ~175K on the clock body & interior in really good condition, engine has run a bearing.

    Paid $1300 for it :D

Will pull the engine hen I get a chance & see how bad things are, might start with another engine but either way will get it back on the road for someone to love again :)

If I can source a manual conversion for cheap then I'll do that while I'm at it.

Pics to come when there is something interesting to see.

do either of your late models have the factory keyless entry with hatch release? Trying to find a location for the computer/ remote sensor setup

Actually I think the wifes one did have an OEM kit in there, it's kind of hard to tell due to it being an add on type of thing but there were a couple of units in there with Nissan part numbers etc related to a remote door lock system.
All removed for the installation of an alarm but I think it might be kicking around in a box somewhere - don't ask for wiring information though, that crap was just chopped out and thrown in the box.

More chasing location of the units. Under dash or adjacent to ECU etc.... Have the swap out the ECU's in my '95, just NFI where it all is, and seller (front cut) doesn't know what he's looking for either

    cheers

There is a small control box for the remote keyless hatch release. Its located underneath the rear truck trim panels attached to the chassis.

my car is fitted with all of the control solenoids... just didn't come with the key remote. Mmarschall has a '95 front cut which has the remote and hopefully, the associated ECU (so long as its in the front half of the car), neither of us know the location. Idea is to swap out my ECU for his remote and ECU. His front cut is buried in the back of a container, and would be good for me to have some idea where to start looking before I blindly start pulling trims apart on my car

It's tucked away in the area above the pedals, there were a couple of components that were behind the carpet so beware of that. It wasn't just one unit, it appeared to be super old school tech with a few boxes to do the job one tiny box could do these days.
I think there may even have been a relay box of sorts in the door.

So apparently I forgot to keep this thread updated and now the car is ...... well ......... kind of finished

Engine & box were removed, engine was a mess & needed a complete donor bottom end that I rebuilt with new rings & bearings.
Gearbox was pulled apart and inspected, then serviced and reassembled.

Engine bay cleaned & a dodgey paint touch up sorted out
    .

Then the whole lot was put back together & test run etc, taken down the road to the testing station & checked out/passed its WOF & is now fully road legal again :br:

Test drives have clocked up around 25kms or so at this stage & everything is mint :D

Next post will include multiple photos but there's an album on Facebook here:

I think I will replace the battery, not because there's anything wrong with but because it's fricken ugly!!!

    Thanks! :D

Picked up another one today, 89 TT 2+2 manual
This one is likely to end up a parts car, has had a bit to much of a hard life so time to put it out of its misery.

Nice work all round. Can you tell me what work went into cleaning up the black paint in the engine bay. Looks so much better with the silver back.

    Thanks! :)

Just the standard sand it back and prime then apply colour = fixed!

I'm guessing you have all the proper paint spray gear? Do you know if you can get OEM paint colour in the can from anywhere?

In NZ at least we can get most car colours in spray cans from Supercheap & Repco, I am sure Aus will be the same.
