Just bought 2 shockers for the rear and the instructions seem simple. The only specialist tool needed appears to be a spring compressor. If I buy one of these should I be able to complete the job myself? Thanks in advance for any advice.

    yeah its dead easy

I did mine not long ago, bought some cheap spring compressors from super cheap for $30. The whole job took me about 2 hours. Just be careful with the bolts that hold the old shocks on at the bottom, use lots of WD40, these strip out easy. If you need any advice give me a call, mobile no is 0402780765.

    Biggest hassle is >>

removing most of your rear interior panels, so that you can get to the shock towers.:N(
Other than that, it doesn't take long at all.:YD
Then you have the same hassle replacing the rear interior panels. :N(
Shame that Nissan didn't put a cap over the shock towers, it would have made it a lot easier.=)
Best of luck with the job.
    Cheers

    IB ?????

    With rear shocks....

When you unbolt one shock/spring assembly from the zed, it seems to be held in place by the rear suspension. Most people lever the rear suspension down to get the shock out. I believe that if you unbolt the second shock/spring assembly then you should be able to get both assemblies out easily.
