Hi all just wondering as im sure some of you would have passed this mile stone in the car. I have a 93Z and it's comming up for its services at 80 000. Just wondering if it is a good idea to take it back to nissan for this service. I asked them and they gave me a cost of $419 and this includes the diff oil change. platnum spark plugs and a going over from head to toe. Or should i just take it to midas car servicing that is down the road and have a simular price. Any avantages to taking it to nissan or is there another way. Cheers Terry
G'day Tezza. If it were my zed and I wanted someone else to do some maitenance, i'd take it to a specialist zed mechanic, NOT Nissan or a generic car care centre. No offence to those guys but with these cars, you really need a mechanic who is passionate about zeds... Where abouts are you, perhaps we could suggest a local mechanic who has a genuine interest in the car... There are a few in Bris metro...
I live in the Chermside area so anything northside of town would be good. But as to finding someone that knows what they are doing i would be willing to travel i guess. So had a bad expierence with nissan dealers servicing or is it just better to do it this way. As the car has a warrenty on it so needs to be a offical or whater they are talking about place.
Bris Mechanics Don't know about Northside but I keep hearing good things about AMEC motors in Coorparoo ph 3847 8737. Don't know about your warranty (you might need to confirm with AMEC etc) but they are well respected by some pretty knowledgable forum members and that aint an easy rep to earn... Someone else might know of a Northside mechanic? Re Nissan dealers: Almost every report I'd read/heard about (a lot) Nissan dealers doing services on zeds has been negative. Seems they would probably prefer to do easy services on pulsars and camrys than an exotic like a zed. Thats an overgeneralisation, I know... Just my 2.2 cents... PS: 100K is the big (and critical) service which covers timing belt etc ... might pay to consider doing that now too, Would cost more but not as much as doing both 80 and 100k services separately? If you plan on being a long term zed owner, it's probably something to consider?
I had my 100000 km service done by Moorooka Nissan and no complaints whatsoever (done at 75000 km). I admit it is one of only two times I have taken any of my cars to a mechanic, the other was a clutch fix (done by Moorooka Nissan also). They aren't 'anti-imports' which I've heard a lot of Nissan dealers are. They even changed the water pump, idler pulleys etc and charged it to my 12mth warranty I got when I bought the car. Total cost was about $250 I was happy.
Hi Tezza Have just had quite a bit of work done by Adec that Mark recommended, they were so profesional, great job, 100% they know what they are doing.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
agree - they are the best nissan parts place I've had to deal with. Parts usually come in 4-5 days if they are coming from Japan.
You would have to have 90mm thick fingers to confuse the D & M keys, might I kindly suggest you hit this key by mistake?
Hi Tezza.. It is Emmanual at AMEC, his phone number is 38478737, they are sort of near the Gabba. Cheers Scott:thumbsup::thumbsup:
