    Hi All,
Where is the best place to relocate the PTU?
    Cheers

theres a couple of good spots for it to go.

    option 1)
next to the air filter - if you cut back the wiring tape it will have just enough length to fit the cables between the headlight and the bodywork. Just be sure to put it high up so it doesnt get and water near it

    option 2)
if your good with wiring, it is possible to extend the wiring loom and put it in the passenger footwell with the ecu and other electronics. this is probly overkill, but removin g it for the engine bay altogether does have its benefits, and looks clean and tidy for those going with the minimalist engine bays.

You can also relocate it to under the nose panel provided its out the way of any rain (if you have a vented nose panel).

Mine's near the battery, unwind the outer layer of wrapping tape on the loom and you have a fair bit of flexibility to move it back down the left hand side. In theory being off the motor should reduce the vibrations it experiences and extend it's life a bit, S2 PTUs seem pretty robust though.

I was going to make a similar argument as you pete but honestly I don't think there enough things that can happen to the PTU in the stock location worth relocating it for.

Move it if you want neatness but longevity there is nothing wrong with stock location.

Mine has been moved to near the fuse box for the sake of moving it off the motor.

Why do you want to relocate it?
    Where is it mounted now?
How long has it been there?

More for the aesthetic look of the engine bay mainly, And I though the vibration may shorten its life. Not sure if that is true or not?

S1 ptu's have lasted 20+ years in stock location. Wouldn't see how moving it could affect life.
Be carefull if you move it, i relocated mine under the nose panel and damaged a wire. Ended up replacing the whole harness (not nuch of an electrician) so just keep the bends to a minimum

Exactly my situation and thoughts as well, mine sits on outside edge of the engine bay fuse box, more for tidyness than anything else.
