    Hey,

I've had a flick through the tech section and also searched the forum but unsuccessful.

Wondering whether I will be able to put a rear sub frame (diff cradle) from a tt 2+2 into my na 2+0. The 4 wheel steering stuff has been removed and the diff is the usual na diff, not the V-LSD. But yeh I need to swap because mine is slightly bent and it is scrubbing tires and kinda affects my handling around corners especially in the wet! This other cradle is available for $300 from a friend of a friend of mine in Townsville... Seeing as it's local I'm really hoping I can use it.

Will it work out alright? Is there other parts I'll need or are they just not interchangable??

I found a great tech article on removing the na subframe (thanks to chrispy, will no doubt be very helpful :)).

    Thanks for any help.

you car will feel slower than what it already does, the tt diff has a lower ratio than the na diff. if you need to change it up another na diff in

Alright, well my na diff is still good so I'll probably be able to put that in the tt cradle instead, yeh?

I'm just a mechanical engineering uni student, not great with cars but I'm doing some work experience at my mechanics during my uni holidays and instead of paying me they'll show me how to do the work on my car including swap the subframe and front brake discs using their gear :)

So my question is will I be able to put a 2+2 sub frame in my 2+0? Was that a yes?

As far as I can recall, the NA Diff does not fit in a TT subframe, so if you do the swap you will need to use a TT Diff(which won't be very nice in an NA). Both sub frames are interchangeable, complete with Diff(however, the tailshaft will need to be modified if you use a TT Diff, as it comes with a CV joint, not a Uni joint).

you can't use the NA diff center in a TT subframe. this is why everytime someone does a NA rear swap, they do the whole thing complete with hubs and axles because mixing and matching doesn't work.

subframes are the same between 2+0 and 2+2 but the TT HICAS stuff can't be just "removed", you still need a HICAS lock bar to keep the TT hubs turning.

nope, na diff does not go into tt cradle...

2+2 / 2+0 doesnt matter same subframe style... its the na/tt arguement you need to concentrate on...

for your problem if you subframe is fkt, u will need to replace it with a NA cradle out of a 2+2 or 2+0 doesnt matter...

So, it looks like I'm looking for an na rear subframe, with or without diff, suspension parts and hubs, because I've got these already just need the diff cradle.

The tt cradle w/ diff was going to be $300 and new_noise recently sold a complete rear na subframe with diff, hubs, etc for $350 so yeh, in kinda desperate need for one of these within the next couple weeks on a tight budget, I've had to save a while and can afford $350 posted...

Just trying to alert you to the huge cost of Postage for a large/heavy item such as this(it could well make the exercise inadvisable).:eek::zlove:
