I have some wheel fitment issues and before anyone says " get the correct offset" I have deep dish requirements. Anyway..... I want to know the material thickness of the rear hat where the wheel bolts to. Basically i am chasing 4 - 6 mm of clearance to make the tyre sit under the guard. (I would prefer not to roll the lips on the guard) I havent had a chance to take the hat off yet as it was getting too drak last night to check to see what is behind the hat. I was thinking i could machine 3mm off the face of the hat to get halfway. Has this been done? thanks STan
Dangerous I would not do it. You're going to weaken the rotor hub. More likely to warp I would think and you might even have issues with the studs. I have 3mm spacers I think anything more than that is dangerous. Roll the guards if you don't want to get new wheels, prob not an expensive job for a good panel beater.
i would certainly hope not :bash: ,fender rolls cost around $50 a guard, get it done if you want an aggressive fitment or needless to say,get wheels with the correct offset If it was safe to machine the rotor hat thinner ,they would have a variety available wouldnt they and they dont
