I'm thinking about relocating the PTU next to the fuse/relay box to clean up the engine bay a bit, I'm also swapping it for a series two unit.
Has anybody relocated it here, does anybody have any pictures?

Yeah mine sits on the wheel arch just beside the fuse box (I don't have timing covers).

Moving your PTU from your engine bay to your engine bay doesn't really clean up your engine bay.

This is a pic from when I initially moved mine before making a bracket up to mount it on. Gives you an idea of just how much cabling length you've got to play with. Just undo the loom tape, reroute, retape.

Perfect... if you don't have the AC condenser fan or standard intake piping.

Got a picture of the bracket you made?

It more or less bolted to where the PTU is now so it probably wouldn't be much good to you.

Point I was making is that there's acres of play in the loom to put it wherever you like - duck under your nose panel and decide where you'd like it, then go from there.

I tried to fit it under the nose panel and I couldn't get the plugs through. Did you have to shorten the harness a lot rob?

The plugs will make it through alright, I've done it on about four cars now. You might have to pop off the bolts that secure your u-pipe (goes from AFM T-piece to accordion) to give yourself some more wiggle room. Can't remember too well sorry.

    Cut the plugs off !!!!

You say you're going S2 anyway so it won't matter. Feed a draw string or wire through because it's much easier to pull the harness through than it is to try and push it

I think I'll give this another go. I don't think there's any way i can do it with the plugs on I'll just cut them. Has anyone got any pics on exactly where the wires have to be fed through?

As far as I remember it was just underneath the boost piping, next to the radiator... as far as I remember

When I purchased my car, my PTU was relocated under a aftermarket vented nose panel.
On the way driving the car back from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, Three quarters through I couldn't figure out why the car was missing.
With the help from Kym (The one who runs the Australia Z32 Buy/Sell on Facebook) in Lismore, it was found that the wires had corrosion on them from sitting under the nose panel from the rain and the clutch fan probably yanked on the wire too lol
Since then it has been re-relocated next to the fuse box and no issues since then

I did have a search. Way too many articles without searching for titles only only about 6 with, only one had still active pictures. Will it be okay cable tied or should I bolt it down under the nose cone, (mine isn't vented or anything so water isn't an issue.
